Hey gang,
I'm starting to farm Viscidus so I can get the Viscidus Globule, the last pet I need for Raiding With Leashes. I need some advice on how to kill him as a solo Paladin. I put Elemental Force on my weapon because I saw a ton of stuff that said it would work easily. I can easily get him down to 1 hp, he freezes and then he starts to crack but then goes back to normal before I can shatter him.
Any tips on how to do this as a solo Paladin?

Re: Viscidus Help
Save all of your CDs until he's frozen and at 1hp. To get the ice to crack, it doesn't matter how much damage you do it's based on number of hits you get in. If you can't get him to crack completely, you may need to bring a friend.
Re: Viscidus Help
Same as the above poster said just save any hate cooldowns till frozen then pop any trinkets that summon pets (i use the trinket that summons the voodoo gnomes or quillen but anything of the sort would work.) Pop your Guardian and that should shatter him quick.
If all that fails find the fastest weapon you can find and macro it so you can swap over the second he freezes and rain blows on him. Even a poor quality gray dagger will help if it has a one second attack speed.
Good luck!

Hmm.....
Sounds like I'm going to need to find me a quick dagger then. Sounds like the fastest/easiest way.

Any class that can't inflict the number of melee hits needed to shatter him while he's frozen can use one of those trinkets that summons NPCs to help you fight. My mage uses the Crate of Kidnapped Puppies and my priest uses his old Barov Peasant Caller, but any of these type of trinkets would probably work.
Is Elemental Force any good? I've tried using Deathfrost enchant and Frost Oil, and both have a very low proc rate so it takes quite a while to get 20 procs.

This npc http://www.wowhead.com/npc=30006
sells a bunch of weapons that deal frost damage per hit.
As a druid I just bought the polearm, go kitty form. And the boss dies without doing anything special.

Re: Viscidus Help
For a lock, having Archimonde's Darkness talented helps, apparently chaos damage also counts as frost damage. Make sure you have either your felguard or succubus out for the melee hits. As mentioned before, equipping a fast dagger (with Elemental Force enchant if you're not talenting Archimonde's Darkness), and popping one or two trinkets that summon helpers (Barov Peasant Caller, Captain Zvezdan's Lost Leg, Crate of Kidnapped Puppies, Miniature Voodoo Mask, etc.) are also helpful.
