Fun fact: the bronze whelpling and its summon spell were created in 2004, but never made it into the game.

Just how the missing emerald drake mount became the 250 mounts rewards.

I wouldn't mind that at all but I should hit 600 easily once WoD comes out. Can't really think of anywhere that it would make sense as a zone drops like the other whelplings either.

YES! I have been waiting forever for a bronze whelpling. There was one in the journal for a bit in the Pandaria beta, but it never made it live. I agree that it'll be a 600 pet achiev pet, there really isn't anywhere else that makes sense for it since there are no bronze whelpling mobs out in the world and the infinite whelp is already the wild pet at the caverns of time.

I'm so happy! I've been wanting one for ages.

Hopefully the above speculation is right and its an achieve drop rather than a world drop, i really really don't want to go kill thousands of mobs for a dragonling drop again, the horror of farming the azure and crimson whelpling still resides sharply in my memory.

Its probably not for an achievement since its an item. Believe the achievement rewards all just go directly in your pet journal now.

You save bronze whelplings (Along with green, red, and blue whelplings) for Done Nothing Wrong in Burning Steppes.

Members of the Bronze Dragonflight are involved some way or another in the whole 'let's travel to Draenor in a different time!' debacle, so perhaps the Bronze Whelpling won't be so out of place in WoD. As the expac storyline progresses, maybe the bronze will take center stage at some point and there will be a quest/faction vendor/etc.

Or we may end up having to slay thousands of bronze whelplings for our own pet. That wouldn't make much sense in terms of lore, though, unless those whelplings were "corrupted" or something.

Another possible drop scenario is if an NPC "stole" a bronze baby and we just happen to save it.

In any case, it doesn't look like they added the Bronze Whelpling in the most recent beta patch. Here's hoping the next patch will have it and provide more details.

So much this. I hated farming for the whelplings. It was so time-consuming and tedious that if the Bronze Whelpling is going to go that route, I think that I might skip that one.

Riorel I would love this way. Most of us would get an easy acheive and a new pet all in one. Me think Blizz won't be so easy

Latest patch suggests it's a drop from the Iron Horde in the Blasted Lands.
