After completing 215 Tol’vir Artifacts I got my Crawling Claw. If anyone is interested here’s the breakdown of artifacts I got before my claw.

Canopic Jar - 35

Soapstone Scarab Necklace - 28

Damn you were lucky to get it that fast. I am currently at over 400 tol'vir solves and have yet to see the claw (have got all the other 5 rares already).

That one is generally a huuuuuuge pain for most collectors to get. (also noticed the mount so big grats on that too!)

Over 600+ Solves here on one toon and close to 100 on the second and still no Claw ....
I refuse to buy this pet from AH .... just for the principle :/ i keep going

Wow now I feel bad about complaining about it taking 200+ solves to get one. May the RNG gods smile on you and your next solve be a CC.

Ive been way over the 300 solves, got 4 of the rares and even recipe for vial of the sand.

I got mine on my 61st solve. 4 of the rares so far. I still need to put more time in archy though.

Gratz! I was 300+ when I finally got this. And it was a complete surprise to me too. I was like 'what's this monkey paw thing? Another useless toy?!' and I was rather pissy about it. Then it turned into the pet when I completed it and I was like O_O! I'd already caved and bought the pet by then though.

Did some calculations, figured that number of hours farming gold to buy a Claw off the AH was far, far less than the insane number of average hours to get one with Archaeology. Also lot less cursing.

Congrats!!! To everyone who has the C.C. someday i will grind for it, I just dont spend much time doing archy, and again grats to those who put the effort into that pet.

I did that math a while ago and came to the same conclusion. I can make money pretty easily - I just ponied up the gold!

I ground it out myself. I probably would have bought it if I thought I had any reasonable chance of seeing it on my home AH but was on a low pop RP server so that wasn't going to happen. I have no idea how many solves it took but I should be able to check because I haven't done any Archeology since.

I have no idea how many solves it took me to get the claw as that was back in cata and i think my mind has blanked out the awful memories of flying endlessly all day from one digsite to another. Maybe the dupers will dump these on AH one day and kill the price of them. I found it to be the worst pet to attain in terms of monotony, even whelpling farming can drop world epics and old transmog usable recipes, but once you have the other tol'vir rares the gold is little compensation against the boredom.
I hope the WoD archy pets dont turn out to be as boring to farm, especially a we are gonna have to ride to all the digsites from the nearest FP and not fly over mobs.

WOOT That is totally awesome. That pet is the biggest pain in the game to get IMHO.

Congrats on your claw. I didn't count my attempts but I would say it near what you got. More than 100 tries, less than 300.

I would do this again 3 times over before the 250 Pet V Pet wins I need for the last direhorn. I absolutely hate the PVP side of things. Be it pets, or other players I am just horrible. So in my opinion the [pet]Stunted Direhorn[/pet] is the worst pet. Even if I was decent at doing this, the sheer amount of time to get this done is daunting.

I counted, I was at over 1000 tol vir solves. I only completed it instead of just buying it because at that point I felt like it was an absolute waste not to.

Congrats on that! Although personally I would rather spend the time/effort grinding for 10 Crawling Claws than for just one Stunted Direhorn. Most awful pet grind in the game by far >_<

Congrats! That pet is a huge pain in the posterior. Not sure how many combines I've had but its a lot. Honestly, I'd just go and buy the silly thing except I also want the mount. That plus any cash not spent on the claw can be spent on all the other pets I don't have. Must get more pets.....
