can you only get the stones from oet supply bags and the AH or do they still randomly drop when pet battling in the wild?

You can get rarity+ battle-stones from pet dailies, from the pet menagerie vendor, from the celestial tournament vendor, and from battles with wild pets. The stones from wild battles usually match the type of pet you are battling or they are the non-family specific type you find on the auction house. You can get level+ battle-stones from the pet menagerie daily satchel and from the pet menagerie vendor.

I'm still getting type-specific Battle Stones from wild pet battles, drop rate seems to be unchanged at something under 2%. More rarely -- no idea what rate is -- I get lucky and score a Flawless Battle Stone.

As usual dealing with WoW RNG, can go days without a single stone and then get 2 or 3 over an hour of battling.

I've yet to have a stone drop from wild pets in WoD.
I still go back and do some MoP Tamers and can confirm stones do still drop from those bags.

But you can buy stones/levels at your menagerie.

I have gotten several Flawless Battle-Stones from WoD. Specifically while battling Icespine Hatchling, Frostfur Rats, and Twilight Wasps while working on my pet monument achievement in Frostfire Ridge. I have received 5 so far (at about 900 battles in Draenor atm), all were the BoE type. I haven't seen any creature-specific types drop from wild battles yet though. All in all, for me personally, I feel like I'm getting these at about the same rate as I always have in MoP.

Wakamaru I'm heading towards 700 battles for my monument and have not had a single stone drop.
I've been battling the Icespines just outside the Garrison on lowbie alts. Get xp on both toon and pets. I just assumed they'd changed it for WoD as I'd not seen any stones yet.

That's horrible! I'm sorry to hear you are having such rotten luck with the stones I can confirm that they do still drop in WoD though, so hopefully you find some soon! I'm sending you good battle-stone vibes. *wavy hands*

While farming up a P/P Emerald Proto-Whelp for my wife tonight, a draconic-family battle-stone dropped from a wild battle. So I can confirm that as of thirty minutes ago, family-specific stones definitely do drop.

Yes, they definitely drop in WoD content. I must be getting all "your" stones because the drop rate has been relatively high for me, about 1 per 50 battles.

i have lots of different kinds of stones but Flying is so hard to get. I've looked around and can't find many spots for flying pets to battle. I'm just hoping that if i battle flying, i'll get a flying stone. I have to keep using the Flawless.

One more thing to note, is that despite most pet battle dailies being account wide, the pet menagerie is character unique. I have two level 100 characters, and both are able to do the daily and I get 2 bags each day. Both supply 8 - 10 pet charms, a leveling stone, and sometimes a pet. ( also the small amount of gold and random pet bandages etc). I have not gotten a family rarity stone from the bag, however that may just be my luck.
