Is there any data on the impact of the skill level ?
I seems to catch about at the same rate luker when ever i have 730 , 714 , 930 1000+ Skill level .....

I think it is more RNG , than anything with skill lvl related....

ami i wrong ?

With higher skill level you should see an increased Lunker catch-rate, as mentioned in the 6.1 Patch Notes. RNG will always be a factor though.

i stopped fishing when i saw that the success rate for a lunker is just a few percent. i have better things to do with my time

same here - much preferred to cough up the 10k gold and farm the auction house.

My raid got cancelled last raid night so I hung around talking to the last few people who wanted to raid and fished with my follower. Fishing with followers is awesome, pheromone fish buff, be mine! During the course of normal raid time I managed to get around 30 lunkers. It's not amazing, well unless you compare it to how it was at start of the expansion. But yeah, tolerable considering the pets run around 20-30k on my server. It did seem to have less time between lunkers on average when I had consistent pheromone fish buff(s) up, but keeping consistent uptime on that is so random it's hard to be entirely sure.

ohh thanks for the tip, didn't even think to use pheromone buff on a follower, i havent much time to fish lately but when i do i usually just fish either the sea scorpions or fire ammonite, as both are right by my garrison.

Just to add: as a hunter, you can use the pheremones on your pet as well. Dont know if this works for mages / locks pets as well.
