Did Blizzard remove recipe for Mechanical Yeti?

It seems that the quest for the Tranquil Mechanical Yeti is no longer obtainable. I was contacted in game about making this and that's when I found out the recipe has gone missing. I thought it was just a case of people not wanting to farm old world quest but when I checked Wowhead, the NPC just doesn't give it anymore so those who hasn't obtained the recipe is out of luck.

I can't access Blizzard forum atm, it seems down for me. Has anyone heard about the recipe being removed from the quest chain? And if so, why? It seems odd the recipe was removed, I would think it was a bug or oversight.

This change was documented on the [pet]Tranquil Mechanical Yeti[/pet]'s pet profile:

"As of roughly Patch 5.2, Umi Rumplesnicker no longer offers to train engineers the schematic for this pet. The quest, A Yeti of Your Own, was either removed from the game or was unintentionally severed from the quest chain. It's unknown if the quest will return in a future patch."

I haven't heard of any word from Blizzard whether or not the recipe will be added back into the game. If anyone has more information this please let us know!

Should be emphasised that those chars who got the schematic 'in the day' still have it now.
I'm fairly sure I can still make them on my engi alt, so let me know if you need one - be happy to give one to you.

The recipe has been taken out of the game.
However if you had it before, you still got it! if you had it and deleted Engineering, you should be able to get it again by talking to the Questgiver. You cant get it if you didnt have it tho.

Are you serious? Offering 200k right now on Mal'Ganis horde.

I don't mean to be skeptical but do you have any proof at all for that claim? I'm a seeker/completionist and the rarest recipe I bought was the white BoE version of Thistle Tea so my Hunter could learn it. I've never seen the Mechanical Yeti recipe tradable.

I would really, really like to have the engineering schematic to make the Yeti pet. Beave made it sound like it's still possible to get if someone put it in their bank. I beg of someone to elaborate and, if you can, give me the wowhead link of the actual schematic that is tradable to other players, because if it's true, I'm going to spend a lot of time looking for it. I really want it.
