UPDATE: Confirmed today during BlizzCon - Baby Winston battle pet!

This is referring to the "Overwatch Origins Edition" of the game, which is rumored to cost $40-$60. There are a number of bonus Overwatch heroes, skins, etc. that will probably come with this edition of the game.

The thing to note is the Baby Winston battle pet. It might mean if we want the Overwatch promotional pet, we'll have to spend cash on it, despite Overwatch likely being a free-to-play game.

Again, unconfirmed information. The website this information comes from seems legit enough, but I can't say for sure since I've never purchased from them.

We'll see what the official announcement is during BlizzCon.

well i will buy the pack if it gets me another pet, i like all pet collectors must have it

Haha, so true! ^^ But then again, I never thought I'd play HotS. I needed Graves though, and now I got hooked and play HotS instead of WoW

Confirmed today -- Overwatch Origins edition will have a bonus WoW pet (Baby Winston).

• Normal version of Overwatch will cost $39.99
• Origins Edition will cost $59.99
• Collector's Edition (TBA)

Think of Origins Edition as the "Digital Deluxe" for Overwatch.

Not sure how I will feel about Overwatch, but I'm gonna buy it simply for the Baby Winston pet. lol

From what I've read, Overwatch also has non-CE retail version, so I'm led to believe it'll be buy-to-play like Diablo III and Starcraft II.

Following that exact model, it makes sense that the price of the CE is like $20-30 more than a "normal" game, and that it includes goodies for all other games - just like the goodies are restricted to the CE versions of D3 and SC2. So at worst, we probably have to worry about having to buy a CE (like for the other pets) but not about the unfairness of the non-CE being free, as it apparently will not be.

i was actually planning on buying Overwatch anyway, so this absolutely works out for me.

I am a little bummed by this, I am getting tired of paying for games I just know I won't play.

1) I am horrible at "Twitchy" games that if your speed and accuracy aren't spot on you'll never amount to much.
2) I generally don't care for PVP of any sort, and Overwatch is going to be team based PVP.

What I would like to see is just an option to buy the pet without the game. Say 20 or 25 bucks to just get the pet.

I will shell out the cash though just like every other devoted pet fan...

I'm feeling the same. I'm really not a fan of FPS in general and Overwatch overall just doesn't interest me. At the moment I think I will pass up this one.

Kinda feel the same but my issue is there is no Mac version I wonder how well it will play under Parallels.

Dang, this sucks. Overwatch doesn't really look like the kind of game I like to play, so if I bought this it would kinda be wasted, and I don't have the money to fork over 60$ just for a pet. Looks like I'll have to go without this one.

I like at least trying out all the new games so I'm quite happy to buy it. With HoTS for example, I hated it to begin with but by the time I'd made it to level 20 for the pet, I was really quite enjoying it!

I'm actually happy that you get the pet just by buying the game. I'm still struggling to get that Heroes of the Storm pet.

Thankfully, it speeds a bit up if you hit level 10 and get the free stim pack.
