Has anyone figured out how this works for absolute certainty? I just made a post over on the wowhead page about my attempts to get "The Lanticore" to spawn.

Does the first boss have to die before he spawns? Does it have to be queued from the a lower level using the LFG WoD heroic dungeon rather than just walking into the dungeon? I don't get how he spawns. You are able to /tar every single boss in the dungeon from the entrance of the dungeon, so I assume you can target The Lanticore if he spawns. I'd rather know he's in there for sure before I get saved.

I only ask here because I can't find any certainty anywhere on the internet.

So how can I get into the "LFG Heroic" version of the dungeon when I'm 110? Is it time to buy out all of the pets right now?

Have you checked Lore Walkers Terrace (I think that's the name) in VoEB?

There you can queue for old LFR, solo or in a pre-made group.
Maybe there is a NPC for LFG too (haven't checked myself)..

Well, there is "Seer Kazal" in your Garrison who lets you queue for WoD LFR (raids) but not dungeons.

I ran this a ton trying to get the pet back in WoD. I only had him spawn a few times and he never dropped the pet for me. I think you have to clear the first boss for him to spawn. Eventually bought the pet.

The NPCs that let you into old LFR content only do raids AFAIK, the mindset being the transmoggable gear in there is a different color than other modes.

If that tweet is correct this sounds like one of those "roll an alt and then turn off xp gain at the appropriate level in order to queue into the instance" deals. There was one such item in the past (the Blue Drake mount) that was essentially forcing people to do that, until it was added to Malygos' drop list. But you might want to try some test runs where you kill the other bosses leading to him, because maybe one of them is a trigger.

I've never saw Lanticore spawn at all while that dungeon was current content. Obviously I ended up trading for or buying the pet.

I started doing UBRS once daily after I saw this post, using the CM port to UBRS and just running in.

/tar The on entrance
/tar The in first boss's room (pre-pull)
/tar The after killing first boss

Today, I got a hit after killing first boss, screenshot here.

I killed him and he dropped the pet (personal loot), but I'm fairly certain that isn't guaranteed unless you have it set to Need/Greed.

So to answer your questions:

1) First boss must die before The Lanticore spawns.
2) The Lanticore spawns in normal Heroic (just by running in to the instance)

Trying to figure out what it means, but I give up. What is a "CM port"?

Challenge Mode Teleport? Think and 8 hr port after finishing a challenge mode?

My apologies, I should have written that out. Yes, it's the Challenge Mode teleport. Essentially what I meant was that I entered UBRS by traveling to Blackrock Mountain and manually entering, not by queuing on a lowbie through LFG.
