This in-game event starts today! Head to Borean Tundra to hang out with some cute baby murlocs.

It's still unclear if [pet]Squirky[/pet] is tied to the event, or if the event has signaled that she will now be available, or if the two are completely unrelated.

If anyone discovers any information on this pet during this event, please share!

Has anyone gotten a Squirky from this yet? Or any info on it? I'm not able to get online till this afternoon to investigate.

I'm not seeing a pet offered so far. Just finished the quest line in Borean Tundra.

Yup, nothing besides the adorable junk items. Perhaps they were right about optionality of the holidays.

All quiet on the Seabreak Isle aswell, in case anyone was dreading about going here.

I also completed the quest, got nothing but some junk item.

It shouldn't be terribly surprising. They explicitly said that the micro-holidays wouldn't offer pets (or mounts).

I checked today (day later). When you return to the same area, you will have the murloc you picked running by your side. Doesn't offer a quest or anything, it's not even possible to communicate with it.
