Updating collection for new xpac

In the past, I recall that we were encouraged to update regularly early in an Xpac because it helped to sort out breeds. Not sure if this is right, but I noticed that once I got into Ardenweald, that a lot of pets didn't have breeds.

It's been fun catching wild pets again.although the Pulsating Maggot has a nasty habit of casting Burst before you can trap him.

I noticed no breeds showing up when I was catching pets in the Shadowlands wild as well. I assumed it was because my add ons haven't been updated with that info yet. Maybe im misreading you but are you saying some pets do not have breeds by design?

Battle Pet Breed ID has been updated to include breeds now. At least for me.

I was referring to this site. When I was looking at pets that I had caught, they initially had no breeds here. They do now. What I was trying to get at is that it takes some data - in the form of players updating their collections - to determine stuff like breeds. At least that was my understanding.

But everything seems to be working now.

I just updated my BPBID today, and saw the various breeds available.

And mostly thought: "Who cares?" :P

I usually enjoy the process of making a decision about which breed to get, but this time too many species end up with a choice between P/B and H/B, which is pretty much the definition of "Who cares?"

A very dull selection, with uninteresting capture sites.

Although mostly irrelevant for pve some of the breakpoints on speed are very relevant for pvp with these new pets. So it's a little bit of misinformation suggesting breeds are totally irrelevant with the new pets.

See OP. Talking wild pets here. I'm not seeing Lost Soul or Animated Cruor hitting any speed breakpoints.
