Polly pet graphics glitch?

Question about the graphic for Polly, the parrot battle pet.

I have 2 of them:
One is P/B, Rare Power, 1302 health, 289 power, 305 speed
Second one is S/S, Rare Ninja, 1237 health, 260 power, 357 speed

The first one displays as expected...a green and yellow flying parrot
The second one displays as a lamb. Yes, a lamb; actually, the same graphic as the Elwynn Lamb. And when summoned, it's a lamb that's floating above my character.

In my profile here on Warcraft Pets, both of them show the "parrot" graphic. But in my pet journal in-game, the "Lamb" one displays as a white lamb with a black face.

Has anyone else found this? Or is this a graphics glitch unique to me?

This sounds like the mage glyph of polymorph might have struck again.

If a mage had the glyph that allows their polymorphs to last 24 hours, they could poly a battle pet and it would last for the duration. The next battler that came along and captured that battle pet would get to keep that wild pet, polymorphed appearance and all.

As far as I know, they've since fixed this "bug/feature", and captured polymorphed battle pets will revert to their default appearance. But those that were captured prior to the fix get to keep this unique trait. You'll see it in its poly'ed form, as will others.

This mage trick might still be doable on a few wild pets, but from everything I've tested, the poly'ed look doesn't stick after capturing the wild pet.

Enjoy your flying sheep-parrot!

Thanks for the explanation. I wondered how it could have happened.
