Just a heads-up. Just completed the Family Battler of Zaralek Cavern achievement today and its bugged. Gerald is not rewarded on completion of the achievement, others are reporting this on wowhead too. So far, Blizzard support has been very unhelpful with me and said they cannot help with achievements.

Support resolved this issue today by sending Gerald via in-game mail.

Same issue for me. Have a ticket in now, getting the run around but I'm hanging there.

Yeah, getting the run around myself. I submitted a ticket per Blizz's own support page and just got an automated response, so reopened it.

Yep. I got Gerald today via mail a letter from Blizz. Hope if this happens to others that they don't give in. That second response that says they can't help with Achievements make you feel like there's nothing you can do. Just keep telling them it not the Achievement but the reward you need. Guess it has to move up the chain to get results.

same for me took multiple tickets for them to award it to me via in game mail

The Family Battler of Zaralek Cavern achievement now properly awards the pet Gerald. Additionally, Gerald has been flagged as “unique” and “not cageable,” as is normal for achievement-awarded pets. For players who already have the achievement and did not get the pet, we are working on a separate fix to make sure they get their pet reward.

The achievement involved in obtaining Gerald has been fixed....IF you haven't already done it. If you did the achievement prior to the fix, they are still working out how to reward Gerald (other than submitting tickets).

So if you waited for a fix, it is in and Gerald can be obtained correctly now.

Jeez, I struggle to beat even one of these overcharged trainers, and there are people who are pulling off Family Battler with them. I am impressed.

Well, a lot of people just go to Xu-Fu's and copy the strategies. Doing it yourself may take longer, but it's more satisfying.

I got Gerald when I completed the achievement on 7/5-23, 3 days before hotfix.
