I paid $900 for my Mini Tyrael, I'd be absolutely raging if they put it on the anniversary event lol
It's people like this that are often the most vocal to Blizz and why we'll never get them, when it should be on the Anniversary event that we should be able to get them. Esp. when some of these pets have been "MIA" for over a decade for most(some less, some even longer).
Which is also where Yisselda got some of her "unavailable" pets. It seems like far too many people forget the Trading Post is where Blizz stated we'd get those Old unavailable TCG pets & mount, R-A-F pets & Mounts, Store pets & mounts, even promo Pets. Does it suck it takes forever and a day for such pets to come back around? Yes. But acting like it won't ever come back around is lying to new people.Durkmenistan wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2024, 3:24 pmYes, they are releasing a bunch of new pets with 11.0.7, which will make 1800 far easier. It won't change the number of unavailable pets though, which will only continue to grow (it increases nearly every month as they add pets to the Trading Post).
I've done the math on the Trading Post, and the way it has been advertise is actually pretty much just a lie at this point (at least in regard to pets):Escalus wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2024, 9:04 pmIt seems like far too many people forget the Trading Post is where Blizz stated we'd get those Old unavailable TCG pets & mount, R-A-F pets & Mounts, Store pets & mounts, even promo Pets. Durkmenistan wrote: ↑December 1st, 2024, 7:23 pmI went through a pet spreadsheet I've been working on and I found that as of today, 12/01/24, 67 pets implemented in the game are completely unobtainable (which includes pets no longer purchaseable on eBay) and another 24 require an out-of-game purchase of more than $100 (and up to ~$7000 each). These functionally make Mister Muskoxeles unobtainable as well, for anyone who would be creating an account today. For new players and many current players, Clock'em and Tylarr Gronnden are unavailable too. Thundering Serpent Hatchling is so unlikely and expensive to obtain that it basically isn't available. There are also 93 seasonal pets, of which 24 are not available year round.
I have attached a zip file with lists of pets in all of these categories, if anyone wants to check my calculations.
Spirit of Competition was one I picked up that was previously unavailable.Durkmenistan wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2024, 12:28 am
- 1 of those pets was obtainable at some point prior to posting, and returned to being unobtainable (Pandaren Monk 03/23)
they have been cash grabbing hard lately. the only pet i can think of that required an outside purchase was the wind rider cub plushie and that was a long time ago. now look at what we have to buy if we want the pets: lil' flameo, chillbot/thrillbot 9000, reven, brrrgl, gummi, gill'el and this is within a couple month span absolutely disgusting cash grab it has never been this bad. sure we have the blizzcon pets but thats once a year.Darkchyld wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2024, 9:28 pmSpirit of Competition was one I picked up that was previously unavailable.Durkmenistan wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2024, 12:28 am

As much as I would love to have Blizzcon and early collector edition pets available to me, it wouldn't be right for Blizz to reintroduce just to cash grab.
The fact this pet only had a very small number available via US & I think UK, and once gone probably won't be back...WHY in the world would they think that was a smart move?
Essence of Competition and Spirit of Competition are different pets with different IDs (one China only and the other Trading Post) Neither has returned after the single time it was released.Darkchyld wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2024, 9:28 pmSpirit of Competition was one I picked up that was previously unavailable.Durkmenistan wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2024, 12:28 am

Vampiric Batling isn't a promo pet, it was from Wrath of the Lich King pre-patch event in Karazhan. this was never purchasable. it was like the Felbat Pup going into Legion where we had to quest and complete the event to get them. In this case we had to run Karazhan to fight Prince Tenris. The TCG ones need to keep cycling though. That's been rather nice.
This isn't correct, please quit lying on the forums. If you aren't sure about something simply say so. But the Spirit of Competition has been re-released again after it initial release, hence how many players have recently added it to their collection. It's OG release was in BC during the 2.4.3 patch around August of 2008 (which of course correlated with the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games as it was the US/rest of the World's version of the Essence of Competition which was China Only). Only Spirit of Competition was "finally" re-released in the August's Trading Post of 2023 in 10.1.5 patch.Durkmenistan wrote: ↑December 4th, 2024, 5:09 amEssence of Competition and Spirit of Competition are different pets with different IDs (one China only and the other Trading Post) Neither has returned after the single time it was released.
Ah, I found the in-game event you are presumably referring to- I'll add it to my spreadsheet and fix my earlier comment.Escalus wrote: ↑December 14th, 2024, 2:12 pmThis isn't correct, please quit lying on the forums.
