Just found an elite battle pet in the heart land while doing my cooking dailies.

Lucky Yi 25 elite 4129 health. she looks like the marsh fiddlers only read and her paw was orange.

That would be one of the new "Beasts of Fable" for the questline of the same name.

That was the first one I got to, was bummed when my flayer youngling beat him solo.

I killed that pet easily with my Hyjal Bear Cub. But nothing happened. So I brought in a low level pet for one round, swapped to my Hyjal Bear Cub, and killed him easily. My low level pet (was level 4) got 374 exp! That's even with my safari hat on

Where do I pick up the quest that tells me to kill this pet?

Same place you got the Quest to beat Aki, on the platform in the capital city

And I thought the tamers were a grind....Til I saw my lobie pet awarded a whopping 360 XP

I found all of them really easy to beat, just packed in 3 of whatever pet was strong against them and usually got them down without needing my 3rd pet. I'd heard about the low XP so didn't even bother having a lowbie in my team.

The traveling is the annoyance here, I did them as I was doing the regular Pandarian pet dailies and that made it seem a bit less of a grind.

It appears the XP is low because you can battle them over and over again during the day

10 in total for this achievement, once done and you get your Red Panda you can do them daily for a sack that can result in more pandas. The "Beasts of Fable" are spread out all over Pandaria so my plan is to hit them as I do the Tamer dailies there. Having 3 mechs that can do mech damage is a good idea. ([pet]Clock'em[/pet] does mostly humanoid damage)
