I just caught a mountain cottontail that's shiny. Like, metallic shiny, the way some of the cat pets are, such as Poyegan. It's a glossy solid white, and shows up glossy solid white in its portrait in the index. It's only a common, but I've been battling since pet battles opened and I've never seen this before.

Has anyone else?

Neat! If I ever caught one of those, I'd have to name it Shellac...

Is anyone else surprised the old, really angular pet models--like the rabbit and the prairie dog--weren't smoothed out at all, considering all the attention to pets this expansion?

Given the only models Blizzard's ever updated to my knowledge are the druid forms, no, this doesn't surprise me at all. As much as I like my tinypets, on the scale of important things to do, critter updates aren't one of them, I admit.

First thing that came to mind.

I noticed this too, and it seems to only occur for the Mountain Cottontail (at least from what I've seen). I haven't found a glossy version of any other wild rabbit pet, even if they're pure white.

Pretty odd, but definitely something to look out for! I know I plan on capturing one of these shiny pets when MoP comes out.

as soon as i read glossy this was my thought. Now if only i could trade all those shiney pokemon in for some shiney pokewows >.<

apparently you cant trade pets caught in battle either so if they did do 'glossy pokewows' it wouldnt be something i could be lazy and buy off the AH
