Question about choosing pet breeds

Up until this point I have been happily collecting rare pets, then I discovered this thing called pet breeds. I know balance breeds aren't as good as breeds with all their stats allocated to one or two areas, I understand what all the codes are and what they mean.

But what I am unsure of is how do I determine what breed is the best for each pet or if I should be farming H/H, P/P or S/S breeds for each pet? Is there a super secret cheat sheet I haven't discovered yet? Or a rule of thumb (ie. all undead pets or all spiders should generally be a X/X breed).

I have no problem farming the best breeds or spending the time to figure out what is the best breed for each pet, I am just not sure how to go about figuring out what those best breeds are :?:

It actually depends on what you plan to do with your pets. If you are just collecting them then breed should not matter much. Same goes for battles against wild pets. If you do PvP pet battles (though I am not an expert in this area) then having certain pet breeds may help. Some pet abilities will do an extra attack when you are faster than your enemy so you would prefer the speed breeds. This is also an advantage if you want to stun or interrupt your opponent. Some would do the extra attack if your pet is slower, in this case you would want the power breeds or the ones with high health. You may want to check http://petsear.ch/Breeds/Ranking to see how pets are ranked based on speed, power and health.
