Ok iam ocd with getting rare pets. But i want the ones with the rare icon before there name. Now ive gotten some i cant seem find with that icon. Is it that some dont have it?

No it bliz icon. When you get a faster/harder hit/ more hit point pet it has a icon next to it name. It the same icon that in the stats themselves. I don't know how else to say it.

Those are there to mark the speed (S/S), power (P/P) or health (H/H) breed. Some pets only come as balanced (B/B) breed and won't have such an icon. I'm not sure if mixed breeds like S/B also has the speed icon.

You can check the pets on this page, it'll show all breeds that are available for every pet.

Are you talking about the little icons that come after the pet"s name: heart, sword, and whatever the one for speed is? I don't think balance pets have any type of icon by their name if that is what you are talking about.

Certain Breeds have no icon. So it's not the rarity that makes the icon appear, it's the breed. The icon it'self doesn't indicate how "good" the pet is. Different ppl will argue that such-and-such pet is better in this breed, and some will say the opposite. So really it's up to you which breed YOU want (some pets come in more breeds then others).

However, rarity (being poor, common, uncommon, and rare) makes a bigger difference than breed.

Another thing to note is that some pets will never have those icons just because they can't appear in the highest speed, health, power breed. Think of it more as a spec icon, it means a pet is highly spec'd for being fast, or tank(lots of health), or best at dps (power) - some pets won't have that, it's probably easiest to think of them more like hybrids - y'know like the ones with the swords are rogues and the ones without the icons are like druids.

So if you want to have those icons on every pet you get... you'll always have some pets it won't be possible. They simply can't ever have them. As others have said, that doesn't mean those pets are bad. They may be really great pets because of their ability or rarity.

Am I missing something here? Where do you see these icons? In the pet journal, during a battle or what?

In the journal, it's in addon I think. The icon really is arbitrary. The better addon is the one that tells the breed for you in letters imo.

Yeah this isn't a rare icon as much as an attribute icon indicating the pet has abundant health, power or speed. Some pets don't have the icon.

Like others here have said, I'd rather have an adding that shows the pet breed.

I have most of the stats drilled into my head so I wouldn't really benfit from an addon showing me which breed each pet has.
