The Ore Eater

Ive finally gotten ahold of an S/S breed [pet]Ore Eater[/pet] after hearing of how good the breed is.

After trying it out, I must say im quite pleasantly suprised with how tough it is, despite its slightly lower than average hp. Having a consistent ability to nearly always getting [ability]Shell Shield[/ability] off before your opponent makes their move thanks to its 341 speed, is absolutely incredible. As it absorbs a lot of damage, even on an S/S breed for 3 turns. A 204 damage reduction, which also completely nulls the blowback damage from [ability]Body Slam[/ability].

The shell shield combined with the humanoid racial, means it actually can last for quite a while. I had overlooked the pet at first glance, as I thought it was just a standard shield spell alike [ability]Stoneshield[/ability] that only reduces like 70ish.


The Ore Eater is for sure one of the more annoying pets to aquire in WoD, due to triple rng involved. First you have to be lucky to get a Goren Protector to spawn when mining, then he actually have to drop the pet. Finally you have to get lucky with the breed as well, as it have five different breeds. 3 mixed ones and 2 pures.

Wasnt a drop. I had a BB oreeater I traded for a long while back, but found a collector willing to trade me their SS one for my BB and a bit of gold for it, as they did not pet battle.

I got SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lucky the other day...someone had an Ore Eater on the AH for TWENTY gold...almost broke my fingers hitting "buy"...lol I did have one already so I sold it for 18K and split it with the person who had it up for 20 gold because I felt bad-obviously they didn't know the value

I got a S/S Ore Eater about a month ago, and I was very lucky indeed. Now I need to figure out a good PvP team for the little dude. I'm not sure, but I want to start using him in battle this week.

Any good ideas for team mates for the Ore Eater?

Ore eater is still haunting my dreams...

Some times I go 3-4 days, before a single mob (which ofc doesn't drop the pet) spawns..
Herb wise, on the other hand, I have 1-3 spawns (which doesn't drop anything either) per day, from far less nodes...

Stupid mine and herb pets have same retarded 1:1000 drop rate, but herb spawns 10x as many mobs...

The S/S Ore Eater is an awesome addition to my PvP line up! I found a good team setup for the Ore Eater, and it's really a fun team for PvP

Wow!! Got this guy today... All I can say is that this guy is a BEAST in PvP!!!
