I think many of us here have done An Awfully Big Adventure by now. What were your top 3 hardest trainers to figure out a strat for?
For me, definitely:
3. Christoph VonFeasel
2. Taran Zhu
1. Blingtron 4000
For me there was no competition. The rest really didn't take more than 3 or 4 attempts, but these guys were a pain. Christoph took me probably 10 or so attempts with various teams before I got him. Taran took me probably upwards of 20 tries with a wide variety of strats and honestly, I think my win came down to some lucky crits or something. Blingtron 4000 I pounded my head against all night and finally gave up and looked online for other people's strats. Finally ended up doing a cheesy strat with Kun Lai Runt and Yu'la.
I ended up using Yu'la in a LOT of my battles. She has quickly become my favorite celestial pet, I think!
How about you? Which trainers gave you a lot of trouble?

Re: Hardest trainers to two pet for Trunks?
definitely CVF. another fight I struggled with was Goz Banefury since I didnt have a p/p emperor crab which easily counter his 1st pet.
when I wrote a post in wowhead for strats for 2 maning the Celestial Tournament the one that was hardest to win time after time (but easiest to beat with a face-roll) was Dr. Ion Goldbloom which fight is FULL of rng and was a nightmare to write about, doing 4 clean tries only to fail at the 5th.

CVF can actually be done quite easily. I came up with a team on the first night he was available that has worked with great consistency for me. I use a Bronze Whelpling (P/S) and Iron Starlette (H/H) - pretty much any breeds can work for those pets, but those two are ideal. A couple of people have come up with similar strategies, mainly involving Iron Starlette and a pet that can handle Syd (many easily obtainable pets can fill this role). - For Blingtron it was more a "find a faster way without a Shale Hatchling"
- For Taran Zhu it was difficult to find something solid (repeatable), especially with the changes to the fight when I tried that stuff.
- First thoughts on CvF... impossible! But then the people came up with their Starlette strats and discussions about breeds started, so I gave it another try and it went even better with the changes to Syd and RNG.
- Chen was funny, never expected a critter to survive his first beast and sometimes solo the fight Tried a lot of things for this NPC... and for Goldbloom and then there were fights with Tail Sweep pets, I'm not even sure if this would work again...
- Hardest part for me was the Cymre Brightblade (Level 1 XP carry) I think... Had a solid strategy with Teroclaw Hatchling & Yu'la and then bugs and a lot of changes to the fight forced me to reconsider my team.

For me it was Blingtron 4000 because of his Nutcase Pig but I finally got him down using Bonkers and the Ruby Droplet.
Re: Hardest trainers to two pet for Trunks?
I grew to absolutely hate Taran Zhu. And annoyed by all the forum posts that insisted it's easy using their strategies. They never seemed to come close to working for me.
Finally, much to my surprise, soloed him with Ruby Droplet.
Personally never had any trouble with Christoph either for Trunks achieve or raising a carry pet. Used the Fjord Worg Pup / Iron Starlette strategy. It was easy

Re: Hardest trainers to two pet for Trunks?
I think the celestial tourney in general was pretty difficult, probably the hardest of the achievement. There were some fights that took me a long time of just trying to find the right combo & luck for them and I'd spend a night sometimes trying to get it figured out.
I think most other fights I have 2 pet strats anyways which helped.

Huge thanks to Elfuego at wowpetbattle.com and all the nice people posting strats on wowhead.com.
Sometimes you just gotta buckle down and level up those key pets specifically mentioned in the above strats to 25.
All those folks really helped..
