Re: Spores from Draenor
An interesting question! These spores don't seem to deal enough damage per round to be considered useful on a regular basis.
Even though [pet]Brilliant Spore[/pet] has a [ability]Reckless Strike[/ability] or [pet]Zangar Spore[/pet] (with poor stats) [ability]Slicing Wind[/ability], you can hardly call that attractive.
In theory, you'd just go with "blind and leave DoTs" with an [pet]Umbrafen Spore[/pet] that is the fastest of them, but let's be honest, flying pets are fast while under the racial, no matter which one, and after losing the bonus, even that "fast" 300 speed is rarely enough.
Personally, I've upgraded my [pet]Crimson Spore[/pet] that is the toughest one in the terms of HP points. The reason was [ability]Explode[/ability]. Only an H/H [pet]Blackfuse Bombling[/pet] can deal more damage using it, and these pets that can have as much HP as the spore, have also multiple breeds and other utilities that make Explode less favorable.

Re: Spores from Draenor
Hi,
Was just leveling the Crimson Spore from 1 to 6 ... and it is not a pleasant set of fights, since you do not see big numbers ... but it gets easier as it levels, and you get use to the DoT's and Mushrooms ... but still tough, when you are so used to damage differently in most fights in the game.
I'm a believer that these could be some real surprises in the very high level of the game, but it looks like their usability on the upper levels is very limited.
(Heck ... all Rare's of mine are 6 and up now! About 60 of these to bring up ... ouch!

Re: Spores from Draenor
The spores overall are disappointingly bad. So bad that I had trouble leveling them in my MoP carry pet teams - they could not finish off fights at all, even at higher levels, when most pets several levels below could. Example, my Wastewalker Shu strategy can carry a pet roughly level 20, but it requires the pet do about 700 damage to Pounder. The spores at level 23 struggled to do that.
