Shipwrecked Captive XP Nerf??

Only getting 475 xp per defeat now. (523 with hat) No more, no less.

This wasn't the xp I was previously getting, I was getting 50% panda tamer xp before, so like 1k-3k. Is no one else experience this change? Cannot level on the Shipwrecked Captive anymore :/

Yeah, 1215 for a level 18 pet. That gives him a tamer bonus of 1.5x

(pet_level + 9)*(30-pet_level)*2.5*1.5 = exp

So like half of Squirt's EXP

EDIT: however sign of the critter is up. so I need to retest later or back calculate.

Now that I have had a chance to sit down. If you account for Pet Battle Week bonus, that means his tamer bonus is actually 0.5. That's in the same range as a lot of the garrison battles.

Just now, Crysa gave my lvl 24 1634xp with the Safari Hat bonus. Pretty unimpressive. Not sure it's worth the trouble of putting in a leveling pet.

I can sound rude but I'm not sure what's the point.
You were getting to l25, so apparently you were just hitting a peak of the XP possible to gain, rendering all further gain gone. You don't get a notification how much XP do you lose by that act of "overkill".

To avoid that, one can either use two carry pets (if it's safe) or leave that pet to a less-rewarding encounter (wilderness for example). On the other hand, if your pet is 19+ and the XP bar shows first 20% of its level, I'd recommend using upgrading stones instead. Nothing disallows to get that situation on purpose once you know by heart how it works in details.

I'm not sure it's nerfed so much as bugged. As I hear so often in Suramar... "Something's not quite right."
