well that sucks!
Re: Squirt the Wandering Trainer days (Q4 2016 & Y 2017)
I'm using this at the moment, because I forgot that I lend my SS Bronze Whelpling to my brother the last time Squirt was up, and it's working fine. Thanks for this! Only had to level Boneshard real quickItachix wrote:Started using this strategy it rocks fast kills haven't had my 1 lvl pet take a hit love it...
By Myzou (13,521 – 3·22·165) on 2016/11/05 (Patch 7.1.0)
New Strategy, altering Broom/Weebom, I just tried on a whim:
Enchanted Broom 2/2/2
Boneshard 2/2/2
Level Pet
1. Sweep
2. Swap to Level Pet
3. Swap to Boneshard
4. BONESTORM
5. BONESTORM
6. BONESTORM
7. Pass (Boneshard Dies, Bring in Broom)
8. Wind-Up
9. Wind-Up (Puzzle Dies)
10. Batter (Deebs Dies)
11. Batter (Tyri Dies)
For those who don't have a S/S breed Bronze Whelp and want a faster strategy than the Weebom, since it's now a 15 round strategy.
Re: Squirt the Wandering Trainer days (year 2017)
Don't worry, the second half of the year isn't scheduled yet. Perhaps it could be guessed, but I'd like to keep it official.Luc2919 wrote:We only have one all year May 19th
Nice that someone has checked the sweep version with Boneshard. Thank you Myzou!
No Spectral Tiger Cub or Widget the Departed? An S/S [pet]Spectral Spinner[/pet] (and if you're lucky with Puzzle, any except P/B) works too -- the garrison holiday crates still work all year round, so in case of missing the stuff, ask a buddy if their garrison has these.
These times I have problems with soloing that by MPD, perhaps due to the nerfs. The [pet]Molten Hatchling[/pet] (you kill Tyri by [ability]Brittle Webbing[/ability] ), being unaffected, can still defend itself, though it has never been perfect.

Sorry for a double and for a bit of silliness in such a topic, but it isn't enough for a separate thread for sure!
Today I've been experiencing a bizarre display bug: (the correct damage value is given in the log)
I have no idea.

Re: Squirt the Wandering Trainer days (year 2017)
I tried a few battles with Squirt last night, using the Safari Hat plus both treat buffs. If your carry pet is a level one you will go to level 14 after the first battle, then level 20 then level 24. I tried jumping over to the Darkmoon Fair then riding the Merry-Go-Round and getting the additional 10% buff but noticed it had no difference on leveling my pets. Does this buff work different than the Top Hat? I didn't pick that up but does it add to pet experience?
Another question, does stoning pets cause them to lose levels? I stoned one but seemed like it stayed the same level (14) but I was getting a little punchy battling Squirt.
NOTE: Confirmed last night that when you stone a pet he/she doesn't lose any levels. Guess this isn't new but I hadn't stoned any pets in a long time!

[pet]Infinite Hatchling[/pet] is a slightly less reliable substitute for bronze whelpling, it adds one round to the fight and if early advantage crits it kills Tyri robbing you of the darkness. I don't know what base crit chance is but it's only happened once in the last ~40 fights I've done testing with it.
Tail sweep x3, temporal anomaly, tail sweep, early advantage. If you crit and one shot Tyri it's up to you if you go for the 50/50 one shot, or spend a few extra rounds killing puzzle with pounce.
Edit: The slow also widens the pool of pets that can out speed tyri. Unfortunately I've had little luck finding a pet that can kill puzzle as efficiently and reliably as the cats but not rely on/be hindered by darkness. [pet]Chrominius[/pet] (bite to kill tyri, how & surge to kill puzzle) and a H/P [pet]Ghostly Skull[/pet] (shadow slash to kill Tyri & slash then ghostly bite to kill puzzle) both work but risk missing in the darkness. Maybe someone else can find a good 226+ speed (Tyri's slowed speed +1) pet to pair with Infinite Hatchling.
An [pet]Autumnal Sproutling[/pet] p/p looks promising (lash to kill tyri, lash x2 then Fist of the Forest) if you keep the slow buff to through puzzle. Unfortunately mine is speed breed and takes 3-5 turns to kill puzzle and I'm almost out of time to test this. If no one comes up with one by next event I'll test some more. A higher power sproutling does look promising though
Edit again: I happened to have an unleveled P/P [pet]sun sproutling[/pet] which has the same moves, it was too powerful and not powerful enough at the same time. two lashes wasn't powerful enough and a 2 and a 3 risked pushing puzzle to use portal after the two lashes. I ran out of time and she despawned before I could try using club instead of lash.

A brief, friendly reminder that we have a Squirt this Pet XP week in the US, coming up on Friday. Make sure you don't miss it!

Does the "Pet Battle Bonus Events" 7 week cycle change towards the end or during the year?

Re: Squirt the Wandering Trainer days (year 2017)
if EU follows the same weekly holiday as NA they picked up a Super Squirt day , August 26th, oh and looking at it further US/NA gets one on OCtober 16th and Novmber 30th, i looked over the n ew calendar really quick so EU probably has another one too.
Ok this is how the new dates shake out:
EU has Super Squirt on August 26th and October 10
US/NA has Super Squirt October 16th and November 30

Re: Squirt the Wandering Trainer days (year 2017)
Thanks for heads up, will sort it out next day.
It would be nice to see both regions celebrate during the same pet week.

I was just writing from the phone.
Cropped and added. Also changed the hue a bit and bolded.
You didn't have to know this but our maintenance/reset time counts as Wednesday, so no global party here.
Just hopin' that the menagerie timers are intact. In theory we are still under maintenance for the next 3 hours, though I can login into low-level areas.

Is that why you didn't highlight October 10th for EU?Paladance wrote:I was just writing from the phone.

I think the rotation is off again. June 18th for US is Hanos, Manos and Fatos not Squirt. Not sure if any others are off.

Hasn't your reset just happened 5 minutes ago? Whom do you see now, the manafiends or Squirt?Arlynne wrote:I think the rotation is off again. June 18th for US is Hanos, Manos and Fatos not Squirt. Not sure if any others are off.

It was totally my fault. I'm not normally in the game before noon but I have the day off so I was thinking the reset had already happened. I apologise
