Is there a way to actually make this happen? From reading this forum and other battle pet related news on the web, it seems that WOW developers at least somewhat lend an ear to community suggestions. I am thinking of the periodic nerfing of drastically OP pets.
Are "random pet matchmaking" battles a possibility? How?
(a new thread inspired by an interesting discussion in the "anomalus must be stopped" thread.)

I think that they need to solve if you rolled into one of the broken pets or your opponent did it would just ruin the match. If they did that the normal queue would be better making the random one redundant.
The RNG element of the teams would also be very frustrating I would imagine stuff like 3 critters Vs 3 beasts etc

Probably just end up running into someone who's deleted every pet except 3 x Anomalus

People would do this aswell just so they could win consistently

What I was thinking, maybe not clear from my original post, is that both players would have the same three pets. The match making would randomly pick three pets that both players had. Then each player has a little bit of time to pick the abilities they want to use for that battle.
So it really wouldn't matter if they picked an OP or under powered pet because both players have to deal with it.
The advantage would go to people who know how to quickly pick the better ability combinations.
I could see it being abused by people who have only three OP pets in their collection, so maybe there needs to be a minimum number of pets you must have in order to que.

With 3 of the same pets each there would be horrible speed ties where coin flips decided games.

Only if the two people picked the same abilities and used them in the same order.
And to be clear, I'm not saying this should be a replacement to the current system, just an alternative way to que.

The coin flips would be who goes first and who goes second. It would be common enough that games would often be decided by that alone.
