well i guess i'm just a bit late on gathering some of this info lol.

however, there are a couple of pets i'd like to touch on. i'm sure a little more detail won't hurt.

Cheetah cubs are found following adult cheetahs near trees in northern barrens.

The Giraffe Calf spawn directly southeast of forward command in southern barrens, (the field of blood) at night

Spawn of Onyxia is located immediately surrounding onyxia's lair, one spawns every 5 to 10 minutes, and as far as i have seen, only one spawns at a time.

The same appears to be true for the diemetradon hatchling, which i have located in terror run following an elder diemetradon.

Nether Faerie Dragons, found in the Dire maul area of feralas. i originally avoided that area thinking nothing would be in those ruins, another user was kind enough to redirect me.

The Topaz shale hatchling, and only one i have seen to date, was paired with some random critter, most likely a horny toad as that was what i was looking for at that point. i never saw it pop up on the critter map by it's name, so i suggest engaging several pets, if that is what you are looking for. if someone else has seen it pop up under it's own name and not joining the battle of a different pet, please post and let the rest of us know. it did happen to be rare quality, but we all know that's just random.

leopard scorpids, and this will probably be fixed, can be found in the AQ area bordering uldum, at level 16. i don't think they are supposed to be there, but that's where i caught one. it was also a single pet battle, which makes me think this was an accident and sure to be fixed quickly. there were about 4 pet battles in that sandy area if that helps.

Qiraji Guardling, i have learned is a night spawn.

Snowy Owl in WSP, can only be caught if snowing or? Spent 1h in there, found nothing...

Hi there.

According to the Pet Journal, both the Tainted Rat and Tainted Moth are found only in Felwood. Someone might want to update the original post to indicate this!

I did the same trick with the pet macro I mentioned in the Eastern Kingdom thread. My formatting is the same, but I alphabetized this list.

I found a few pets in Ahn'Qiraj, but the macro shows nothing, just "Ahn'Qiraj". The same thing happened when I was on Sunstrider Isle in Eversong Woods. Even though Eversong Woods has a cat, that's found in Sunstrider Isle, when on the isle the macro just says "Sunstrider Isle", and nothing else. From this reasoning I'm thinking that for the purposes of the game, the non-instanced Ahn'Qiraj is considered part of Silithus, so I took it off my list.

On the other hand, there are 4 pets in listed by the macro in Darnassus, but they are all also on the Teldrassil list.

I just ran into a Dark Whelpling as the 2nd pet in a battle in Desolace. But it was marked "not captureable".

Known bug. Uncapturable pets often fill out the team of battle pets, I've seen a Darkmoon cub as a second in Tanaris. I've seen full sized rams and other such like. They will probably have it fixed in "can't crate pets" patch.

Just found a creepy crawly in Northern Barrens - towards the eastern edge, about halfway down. Pet Journal only lists Durotar, so maybe it's a bug on Blizz's part?

I had the same kind of thing happen. Found two Cheetah Cubs over near Hunter's Hill in Southern Barrens.
