Besides the elemental ofc...
all pandaren spirit pets are "legendary 25"
they have lots of health, and hit really hard

you NEED to match the right pet families for each and need pets able to either deal lots of damage fast or avoid/dodge a lot of attacks

All pandaren spirit pets are elementals with a different arsenal, so each pandaren spirit tamer has one elemental, which means a pet that can deal a lot of aquatic damage fast will be handy against pretty much all 4 of them (careful with the Air one as he has Flying attacks though, so an aquatic pet is not going to do great against him)

Whispering Pandaren Spirit (air): Flayer Youngling + Celestial Dragon + Nordrassil Wisp
I used a very similar setup, but I only had to use two pets to win: Flayer Youngling #5 and Spawn of Onyxia #4

Good to know for later, if you want to throw in a low level pet for some xp ;)

Think you missunderstood me, I know we can't get legendary pets, but (iirc) the earth element panda spirit has one beast and one critter, and I was wondering if there is any pets with the same family and skill set as these that are obtainable for me?

Beaten Earth with Rapana Whelk (Absorb, Acidic Goo, Dive), Softshell snapling (Bite, Healing Wave, Headbutt) and Nordrassil Whisp (Beam, Flash, Soul Ward). I do no want to say it was easy, but worked.
If Dive misses just give up and start over.

Beaten Air with Celestial Dragon (Breath, Ancient Blessing, Moonfire), Rapana Whelk (Absorb, Acidic Goo, Dive) and Emerald Whelpling (Breath, Moonfire, Tranquility). Because Dive missed, I practically killed them with the two dragon. Next time I will try some dragon instead of the snail as all pets uses flying attacks.

These weren't the first kills; I try different methods until I find really easy ones.

The Earth Spirit is ridiculous. I've had him stun my creatures to the point that he wiped out two without them doing a single point of damage to him. I have had my successes though. I actually used a Civet one time and his shield and dive abilities resulted in him killing not only the Earth Spirit but that rat resulting in my third pet never even entering the battle. I have been unable to replicate that win with the Civet since though.

I've been using the Flayer Youngling, Emperor Crab and Zepplin. Flayer goes first and reflects the Earth Spirit's spell. He stuns himself and then swaps out for the slime which the flayer kills. It takes a few tries for this to work but it has worked more than other combinations I have tried.

In the end the Earth Spirit simply has so many stuns that he's ridiculously hard to beat.

My level 25 Flayer Youngling(#5) just beat the crap, pardon my french, out of the Flowing Water Spirit(water daily) ALONE! :D

And when I say that, I mean barely... ;)

All in all, 1 pet vs 3 legendary pets during 19 rounds. /flayerflex

Ooh my bad. What does he have again? A critter ooze with ooze abilities for one.. I believe this one ressembles a lot of other oozes, abilities wise, but oozes are generally categorized as Magic, not Critters. I don't think there's any critter ooze available to us.
The other is a beast with shale spider abilities and burrow.. Again I don't think any beast with elemental abilities is out there for us to tame. :(

I took advice from this thread and did the thundering first and all the rest were pretty much a cake walk. I also picked the thundering pet from the quest rewards to avoid having to ever do him again unless I am in the mood to run into a wall headfirst a few dozen times.

Has anyone confirmed that a different elemental pet than the type the tamer you fight drop? Can an earth pet drop from the air tamer? Can a fire pet drop from the water tamer? etc..

Zaelo wrote:I JUST said that it has nothing to do with it.

1) You do the quest, you beat ALL 4, you pick the one YOU want
2) You do any or all of the 4 as dailies, each time getting ONE bag that has A CHANCE to drop ANY of the 4 pandaren spirit
Well yes, but has anyone actually gotten a different type of elemental from the bag than the tamer you just fought/got the bag from? Just asking. :) I do know the general opinion, but that doesn't make it facts :) Its about challenging the general consensus, kinda like the Mark Twain quote; "They did not know it was impossible, so they did it!"

Just to explain myself; From what I gather, wowhead and similar databases would record a bag as a bag, and therefore it would seem all pets could drop from any tamer, and the database would not differentiate between what was inside the specific bag from each specific tamer.

I apologize if I overlooked if someone confirmed it in this thread, it is fairly long afterall. :)

Although the bags have the same name, each Spirit Tamer reward bag can only drop the corresponding spirit pet. Mumper confirmed this on Twitter prior to 5.1's release.

Example: Burning Pandaren Spirit daily can only drop the fire pet.

This is also reflected in the unique item IDs of each bag: If they all had the same loot table, there wouldn't be a need for 4 separate bags.

On the bright side, once you receive one of the pets, you don't have to battle that specific Spirit Tamer again! Unless you want a shot at another one, that is. :)

Well I'll be damned! :o

Is there different loot tables for all the other pet supplies bags from other master trainers dailies?

From what I can tell, all the other Tamer reward bags have the same item ID. I haven't found a unique one yet, so I think they all share the same loot table. Which makes sense since the Porcupette can drop from all of the non-Spirit Tamer/Darkmoon bags.

I don't think I'd have it any other way, either. Low droprate is low! Without those extra chances, I think I might go insane looking for that silly porcupine. :P

Thank you Quintessence, apparently I wasn't making stuff up after all and no I will not be battling the Thundering tamer again unless I'm in the mood to /headdesk. :D

Thank you so much :) Very nice to get this settled. I did not know about the 4 unique item IDs on the bags. I would however still battle all of them, for the oportunity to sell/trade on of them for one of the others.

Dunno why ppl have tough times with the air spirit .. I found that the easiest.
Just take a few dragons and they drop like flees...

i took spawn of onyxia , scourged whelping ( reduces healing .. and can take some real hit :D) and a fel flame ( can never go wrong with dual conflagate hits )

took him down first try.

fire was pretty easy too..

for water spirit take a tank pet ( as i call them ) like a turtle with huge hp .. and self heals + onyxia ( air stike = dead fish ) + anything other than elemental pet :D

The tough one was the Earth spirit , he stuns like crazy and hits like truck ..
used same combo as air fight .. took him down with 2 dead pets and onyxia with 5 health ( literally ) remaining :D

Tips for future fights : if u have leveled your celestial dragon to 25 .. take him to earth spirit fight .. and use that arcane storm thing which prevents stuns and roots.. makes the fight easy .. much easy.

if you dont have celestial dragon .. first get one ;)

also the new Nexus whelping has that spell ( but no self heal )

I believe people are having issues with the Thundering Spirit, aka Earth Spirit. The Air one is the Whispering Spirit, and yes he's quite easy compared to the Thundering Spirit.

Personnally I have the following strategy that works kinda well for the Thundering/Earth Spirit.. I think it's an easy strategy to use as a lot of people seem to have the Flayer Youngling and a Moth of some kind.

1) Start with Moth vs Spirit. Use the slot 3 ability that can proc sleep, and PROC sleep, otherwise restart fight. (No damage will be taken by you at this point).
2) He'll switch to his critter/ooze, so switch to Flayer on round 2. Reflect the first ability cause it does lots of damage.
3) Finish the critter off with Flayer's Rampage, then use him to deal/take as much damage as he can against the Spirit.
4) Either:
a) Throw Moth in, use the ability that proc sleep and cocoon strike to finish the Spirit off. Use him to deal/take as much damage as possible against the Mole, and then throw in a heavy Mechanical hitter to finish it off as fast as you can.
b) Throw a heavy Aquatic hitter in, finish the job on the Spirit, and use him to deal/take as much damage as possible against the Mole. Finish him off with your Moth that is still full hp and can dodge some of those powerful attacks.
