elemental pet battling

what are some good pets to get to go against elementals?

I think that depends on if this is in PvP or PvE. I use my Purple Puffer against most PvE trainers' elementals, but I probably wouldn't use it against PvP players because I think his pump would be too easily evaded or countered. What situation are you needing a pet for?
