Extra plating fading immediately

Has anyone noticed a weird issue with extra plating fading immediately after being used? I've seen it happen a couple of times now, and I don't know what's causing it. I don't think I'm missing anything obvious, but I took a screenshot of the log in case anyone else can explain what happened.

It was mentioned in another post that A.B.Pup's Tough and Cuddly ability causes Crouch and "possibly" Extra plating to vanish from the opponent. That could be why it has been happening to you, as it seems you are using one yourself.

That's a weird interaction.Seems to be true, since I think I've always been using the brew-pup while I've seen the bug. I've never noticed it with crouch though, only extra plating.

Not not as weird as one might think, since they both have the same use, they might also have a similar line of code telling the game what to do, and the game might then see the same line repeated and delete the additional one or simply have a failsafe to prevent people from stacking like more than 1 Crouch in a row using some sort of exploit/hack. I won't tickle anyone's elbows and say I'm a master at coding and video game design, but it probably isn't random is all I'm saying. It is definitely an exploit or glitch and should not be abused. Then again, Pet battles are anonymous and cannot be reported against (as can be seen by botters) so I mean, how should I know it was you who was exploiting this .

Interesting theory. So does the bug only show up when the brew-pup's move is involved? The next team I'm going to try out also has a crouch user, so I'd want to know if there are some pets I shouldn't bother using it against in case it just falls off right away.

Turns out this bug also applies to celestial blessing.

I've only had this happen to me against the brew pup. Cute N' Cuddly has caused both Extra Plating and Crouch to disappear.
