This guide is to help people, collect the pets they need fast, defeat all tamers and save time (I wish someone else did this so it could have saved me time), rather than open web browsers in the background to slow your game down. Listening to annoying voices babble on on Youtube and spend hours watching never ending video tutorials, until you feel like your soul has left your body and your head want's to implode. Sorry Youtuber's but I just can't take it any more so I've done it my way.

NOTE: Some tamers pets always use certain attacks at a certain point in the battle, so learning when and when not to use your attacks will be required to succeed, meaning you may have to fight them two or three times just to defeat them the first time around (then you know their game).

WARNING: Sometimes your opponent will crit once or twice in a blue moon, or your pets will throw a few misses so just lick your wounds, heal up and fight again.

ADVICE: You can try using other pets not in the list as long as they are the same type and strong vs the enemy.

Just to give people some more options, here is what I use for the pandaria tamers.

Hyuna of the Shrines: Nether Faerie Dragon (any breed works as long as its rare quality, Sprite Darter Hatchling works too) with Arcane Blast, Evanescence, Moonfire. Then any pet that has an avoidance move with 4 rounds or lower cooldown.

Start with the faerie dragon, Evanesence, Moonfire, Arcane Blast, Arcane Blast (Hyuna's first pet dies). Arcane Blast, Evanescence, Arcane Blast, Arcane Blast (Hyuna's second pet dies), Arcane Blast (faerie dragon dies unless the turtles headbutt missed), bring in your boost pet and do whatever attack with it, switch in to any pet with avoidance move with four or lower rounds cd, then use the avoidance move always when the turtles headbutt comes off cd, rest of the time just use whatever damage abilities your pet has to kill the turtle.

Aki the Chosen: Anubisath Idol with Crush, Stoneskin, Deflection. Then any pet with strong flying attacks.

Idol can usually solo this, but can sometimes die if rng hates you, so having a pet that can kill the otter easily as back-up is recommended. Start with your boost pet, and do whatever attack with it, then switch to idol, stoneskin, then do enough Crushes to get the cricket low enough to die from next one, then refresh stoneskin and kill the cricket, you want to kill it with 4 turns of stoneskin left, take your time there as it does no damage to your idol while you have stoneskin up. Then against the dragon, deflection, then spam crush until the dragon dies. Against the otter, stoneskin, deflection, then crush until the otter uses survival, then stoneskin, deflection, and crush until its dead.

Farmer Nishi: Jademist Dancer with Steam Vent, Rain Dance, Acid Rain. Then any pet that can kill the worm easily, pets with strong mechanical attacks are ideal.

Start with your boost pet, do any random attack, switch to Jademist Dancer, Acid Rain, Rain Dance, Steam Vent, Steam Vent, the flower is usually dead at this point, but if it isn't one more Steam Vent should finish it off. Against turnip, Steam Vent, Acid Rain, Rain Dance, Steam Vent. Turnip is dead now if the first steam vent hit, but if it missed just use one more steam vent to finish it off. Against the worm, Steam Vent, Acid Rain, Rain Dance (Jademist Dancer dies unless the worms burrow missed, if it did miss, then just finish off the worm with 2 steam vents), switch to your back up pet and finish off the worm.

Mo'ruk: Warbot with Missile, Minefield, Extra Plating. Then any pet that can kill the turtle easily, flying pets are ideal.

Start with boost pet, do whatever attack, then switch to warbot, minefield, missile, missile, missile (Mo'ruk's first pet dies), against the moth, missile, missile (if moth dust sleeps your warbot you might have to start over), warbot usually dies with the moth almost dead, though the rng with the moth dust can change the fight, if moth dust misses completely warbot will kill the moth too, if it sleeps it you are in trouble. The most common outcome is though that it hits and doesn't sleep, which means warbot dies with the moth at very low hp, then bring in your flying pet, finish off the moth, then just zerg the turtle down as quickly as possible. If your flying pet has an avoidance move use it at first turn against the turtle as it likes to open with headbutt.

Wastewalker Shu: Chi-Chi with Alpha Strike, Tranquility, Ethereal. Jademist Dancer with Steam Vent, Rain Dance, Acid Rain.

Start with boost pet, do whatever attack, then switch to Chi-Chi, Tranquility, Ethereal, Alpha Strike, Alpha Strike, Alpha Strike, Ethereal, Tranquility, Alpha Strike, Shu's first pet should be dead, then against the elemental, Alpha Strike, Ethereal, switch to jademist dancer, Acid Rain, Rain Dance, Steam Vent, Steam Vent, Shu's second pet dies, then against the porcupine, just do as much damage with jademist dancer as you can on it, use rain dance on cd, rest of the time spam steam vent, don't use acid rain anymore, sometimes dancer can finish off the porcupine, but usually it dies at the end in which case just bring Chi-Chi in to finish it off with alpha strike or two.

Seeker Zusshi: Jademist Dancer with Steam Vent, Rain Dance, Acid Rain. Chi-Chi with Alpha Strike, Tranquility, Ethereal.

Start with jademist dancer, Acid rain, rain dance, steam vent, steam vent, Zusshi's first pet is usually dead at this point, but if you got unlucky and neither steam vent critted, you need to do one more to finish it off. Then against the snail, Steam Vent, Acid Rain, Rain Dance (Jademist Dancer dies unless the snails dive missed, if it did miss just finish off the snail with steam vents and move to the part about the last pet), bring in Chi-Chi, Tranquility, then spam Alpha Strike until the snail is dead. Against Skimmer, switch in your boost pet, do whatever attack with it, switch to Chi-Chi, Ethereal to dodge the pump, then spam Alpha Strike until Skimmer is dead.

Courageous Yon: Chi-Chi with Alpha Strike, Tranquility, Ethereal.

Chi-Chi can easily solo this guy, start with your boost pet, do whatever attack, switch to Chi-Chi, Ethereal to dodge the lift-off, then simply keep tranquility up, use ethereal to dodge the lift-offs, and rest of the time spam alpha strike until Yon's first pet dies. Against the bunny, Alpha Strike, Tranquility, Ethereal, then after that just keep tranquility up, use ethereal to dodge the burrows, and rest of the time spam alpha strike until the bunny is dead. Against the goat, keep tranquility up, use ethereal to dodge the chews, and rest of the time spam alpha strike until the goat is dead.

I think perhaps you didn't do your research very well - there are guides here that have been up for months and months that are simply the most efficient ways to defeat every single tamer in the game. The fastest (least # of rounds) to level up and also, in the very same guide, tactics for using only 2 pets (Emerald Proto-Whelp and Anubisath Idol) to level up your pets.

Sorry you felt like you had to go to so much trouble but the work has been done for months and months here on this site already.


The YouTubers do the videos for fun. For the people who don't like to slog through reading (and many, many, many people do not.)

I've looked and most guides tend to have Pet Store pets, Blizcon or World Event pets in them, this guide is for those who don't wish to pay out for Pet store, Blizcon and wait for World Event pets (I already know what you're going to say, "buy them off the AH then"). As you stated a lot of guides around but all are decades long, but none for pet taming beginners with virtually zero pet collection and want to get there fast. I could also put down which attacks to use and when to use them, but that takes the fun out of learning yourself does it not.

In fact the best and fastest pets to level up other pets are two Crows or Ravens in my opinion, best spot to level is against Water Skimmers / Eternal Striders in Valley of Eternal Blossoms seeing as they barely ever attack in the first round.

Interesting, I just won Xu-Fu, was going for Zao next but next week i'll get Chi-Chi instead and give her a go.

This is good information for a Celestial pet master, had to point out to Chibimage that this guide is for beginners.

This post isn't a knock on your guide, so please don't take it that way, but you made a comment that the existing guides tend to have Pet Store pets, Blizcon or World Event pets. I wanted to be make sure you knew that wasn't completely the case. Our current guide doesn't have any Pet Store or Blizzcon pets. It has some holiday pets, but they are cageable and around the same price range as the pets you list in your guide that are drops. You might not have seen it:

I think characterizing our guides like that might be a bit unfair, at least in the context provided.

That said, our main 5.4 does require a large assortment of pets, so I think your guide is definitely something that can help get someone started out. I don't think you have to post move sets necessarily, but maybe an overall strategy so that they know why you picked those pets specifically as opposed to other ones. There still should be some room to learn like that.

As a final note:

isn't quite true. Spirebounds come in at least 2 breeds, one of which doesn't have more health, and many crabs come in the same H/H breed with the same health value you are referencing, so it isn't just the Spirebound that has that feature. You might just change the comment to something like "any crab would do, but a high health one is preferable".

Hope that doesn't sound like I am coming down on you, but just wanted to clear some stuff up and give some feedback at the same time.

Not very diplomatic. And you're just plain wrong about the store pets in the line ups (as Jerebear clarified above). I use the warcraftpets.com carry pets and have for months. They are perfectly efficient and super fast - I can get them all done in 35 minutes.

First I'll say that we do always try to welcome input from new members here. There is a lot of room for a lot of different information and there is definitely a lot of ways to do things when it comes to pet battles so I hope you continue to contribute here.

With that said I'm not quite sure I get the purpose of your guide for a variety of reasons. As something for "beginners" who are looking to defeat the tamers for the first time not listing the order of the moves in combat or even just the moves the pet should have selected seems to be lacking any really useful information IMO. Without those it's pretty much a list of pets that have strong attacks against your opponents pets. Use a dragonkin against a magical pet or a Mechanical pet against a beast. All really obvious and should be one of the first things you pick up in pet battling. It's also something already in the FAQs on the site with multiple different cheat sheets to help people remember/understand it. You also fail to mention anything about pet breeds. While some of the pets only have a single breed and it probably doesn't matter much for most of the other it seems like it would be pretty important for the Death Adder Hatchling. Typically, the DAH needs to be faster than it's opponent to be effective. Otherwise there are plenty of other easier to get and better beast pets.



I also feel that some of the pets choices are kinda odd IMO.

Son of Animus certainly isn't a cheap pet to get or one that you can easily get as a raid drop. Now, maybe you were lucky and got it to drop in a raid but that doesn't change the fact that it is a 10k+ pet on most servers and you use it in your guide yet complain about expensive and hard to get pets.

Peddlefeet is a World event, again something you complain about, and has to be stoned to be rare, which you say everything needs to be rare, which seems extremely likely for someone who hasn't beat the daily tamers yet to have any stones, especially human given how rare they are as wild pet battles.

2x Crows seems pretty rough too. The fare is only available 1 week a month. The Crows are only available as a secondary pet in a battle. There is only a single secondary pet at best because of the level of the glowflies and there aren't a huge number of spawn spots for them. That all amounts to getting 2 rare crows being a huge task on average and a bad choice for people who aren't likely to have stones to use.

It seems like you might need to take a step back and gain a little perspective on what actually is an easy to get pet for beginners and not what you happened to have and like to use.


Also you us 20 or so pets which is a fair number of pets to use for a guide for someone just trying to beat the tamers for the first time.


If you do want to put together a useful guide for just beating the tamers for the first time I'd recommend a couple things.
1) Include the moves for the pet you've selected and at least a basic sequence. If someone is looking for a guide they need something more than just a list of pets that are strong against the tamers pets.

2) Try to limit the number of required pets you use greatly. An Anubiseth Idol and Emerald Protowhelp can not only kill all the tamers but can even carry a third pet to level as pointed out in the linked guide. I don't think they would be able to do the all of the BoF or Little Tommy Newcomer and they aren't necessarily the easiest pets to get. The idol tends to be one of the more expensive pets from in AQ, is a fair ways in and isn't the simplest fight from what I recall and the whelp doesn't have a huge number of spawn spots. A good guide that did all the tamers + the BoF and Little Tommy Newcomer with half a dozen or so pets might be handy.

3) Try to limit the required pets to pets that can fairly easily be caught in the wild at a high level so that someone who just got their first team to 25 shouldn't have a hugely difficult time getting the pets. Things like the Spirebound crab, a moth or Water skimmer are great. A number of the other ones you mentioned, not so much.

I absolutely loved this guide. You could learn a lot from following it. All sorts of what I would consider the intermediate skills of pet battling. How to time evasions, heals, armor, weather effects and so on. It's been a long time, but as I recall that guide teaches you how to use Sandstorm(for example) to lower incoming damage, to remove hostile weather effects and to just plain smack the heck out of vulnerable creatures.

For the training it gave you and for the accessibility to a new pet battler, it was a great place to start.

Also I noticed he wanted to use stoneskin on Aki the chosen in the vale with his anbisol idol pet.
If a beginner much better to use sandstorm why you ask?
With sandstorm one can carry as low as a level one thru that fight as long as not an undead pet.
Why?
Sandstorm blocks Aki's grasshoppers swarm move. Except for undead since it is super effective against undead being a critter move it will still hit the undead pet thru sandstorm. All others though will block it.

Using this can carry a level 1 thru this fight with the tamer hat the pet goes to 11 after this one fight and I believe 14
If using pet biscuit.

An idol most times can solo Aki but have a moth/bird pet as ones third pet incase of some bad RNG.
Flyer family pet is super effective against Aki's third pet and will finish the job easily.

So here how it goes start with idol use sandstorm move slot 2
Switch to carry pet can either watch as hit misses on it thru sandstorm and switch back right now or to be sure it gets credit for fight attack once and switch back to idol.

From this point spam crush refreshing sandstorm as need till hopper dead.

With sandstorm one can carry as low as a level one thru that fight as long as not an undead pet.
Why?
Sandstorm blocks Aki's grasshoppers swarm move. Except for undead since it is super effective against undead being a critter move it will still hit the undead pet thru sandstorm. All others though will block it.

Using this can carry a level 1 thru this fight with the tamer hat the pet goes to 11 after this one fight and I believe 14
If using pet biscuit.

An idol most times can solo Aki but have a moth/bird pet as ones third pet incase of some bad RNG.
Flyer family pet is super effective against Aki's third pet and will finish the job easily.

So here how it goes start with idol use sandstorm move slot 2
Switch to carry pet can either watch as hit misses on it thru sandstorm and switch back right now or to be sure it gets credit for fight attack once and switch back to idol.

From this point spam crush refreshing sandstorm as need till hopper dead.

As long as your carry pet isn't undead, you can just start with it against Aki, the Swarm does so little damage on the first round that it doesn't kill even a lvl 1 pet unless it crits. I prefer to use stoneskin over sandstorm because it makes killing Aki's dragon a lot less luck dependent, taking in that the idol can't hit broad side of a barn with sandstorm up.

Also another strategy that you can use to safely carry a lvl 1 pet, which I have been using lately to boost lvl 1 pets against Mo'ruk, which works for all tamers who don't have a critter as their last pet, is to use a turkey (any type of turkey works) as your second lvl 25 pet, just use food coma to sleep the tamers last pet for 2 rounds, which is just long enough for you to switch in your carry pet and do one attack with it without it taking any damage.

I feel that Jerebear and Kpb (both established and well respected contributers to this site) put all the important points {regarding what helpful guides already exist here and etiquette in forums} into carefully chosen words.

I'm totally aware there are many guides and a lot of information on here, after all I'm also aware there are a heck of a lot more seasoned pet battler's with better pet collections that know a lot more than I do. Silly of me to not expect one or two other people get upset, usually I keep my mouth shut and let them whine. With no disrespect to other people's guides, I barely have the time to read every single one of them. If my guide's not satisfactory to the website they are welcome to remove it, thank you to those who have been welcoming. Appreciated.

Do not be concerned with the opinions of others. If you have a clear path that others have not yet found and it helps just ONE other person take a victory, then you have already accomplished what you set out to do! Even with established tactics and solid strategies, I love to see what other people attempt and the WHY! I can tell you from experience that you cannot always please every one all the time, and while some here on this forum look to embarrass or be-little your efforts, keep posting if it pleases you. There will always be someone who will take your advice and give it a try. I can see you did a lot of work on this post, and I know what kind of work it takes. As for the community's response to this thread, I can tell you the reaction of most of warcraftpet.com users are quite open minded and receptive to new tactics and Ideas. Its a sad day for us all when ignorance born of arrogance shuts someone else down =(.

When you open your guide by complaining that nobody had ever bothered to do the work to make things easier for you, which is patently false and belittles all the work by many people on the site you are posting on, you are not getting off on the right foot with that community at all. If you don't have thick skin then don't throw out insults, it's that simple.

People not only attempted to set things right (by pointing out the very guides that were obviously never read) they also tried to provide helpful advice to improve his guide - because you are right, more ideas can only help everyone overall, and if a guide helps even 1 person get past that battle that just has them stuck it is totally worth all the effort. Nothing is worse than a complete stagnation of ideas - and it's good that new blood adds their voice and nobody here has EVER tried to shut someone down for expressing new strategies.
