I just think it's painfully slow, personally. The Pandaria masters could be handled for the longest time with only 2 pets as well (Anubisath Idol and Emerald Proto-Whelp). It was just as slow and plodding, but it is a great way to level up pets - and because you can fly in Pandaria it's much faster.

Doubtful I'll list this strat in the rebuilt guide for power levelling/BoF, though, because of the time the fights take - but I'll have to do a case-by-case test of the alternatives before deciding that.
