Was starting my 10 pvp wins for the week today. Played a different team each time and was on a winning streak... got 4 in a row right off the bat. Feeling a loss was nearly certain, I switched to my lame cheapo win team: triple Iron Starlette.
Clobbered the opponent in the first fight, only used 2 of my 3 starlettes even though he two elementals, haha. I thought I might as well queue up again.
This time the team is Chi-chi (with Fire Quills and Wild Magic, very common ), Sunreaver Micro-Sentry (Fel Immolate and Call Lightning of course!) and a Zandalari Raptor. Needless to say Chi-chi wiped the floor with my team! Never even saw the raptor. Anyway, I guess I can't be 100% certain they brought out this team simply to counter my Starlettes, but it certainly felt like it! It was around noon-ish too so there tends not to be a lot of people in the queue.
Has this ever happened to you, or have you tried to do it? Usually if I get the same team kicking my butt 2-3 times in a row, I'll try and counter it, and then for sure I get a different team next. So I've stopped trying to come up with "counter" teams.
Ever been specifically countered?

Re: Ever been specifically countered?
A good team can't be completely countered, so it's never really happened (although that doesn't stop people from trying). I did have someone finally resort to running the exact same team as me, although on that occasion they still lost due to losing key 50/50 speed rolls.
