The bug: There is no sound, animation, or indication in the pet battle log that your leveling pet gained any experience or leveled.

I'm not sure when this bug began happening or if it's always been like that, but here are two screenshots showing it:

Never noticed for Aki..

However, the trainer in Talador have same problem.. No visual xp/levels etc.. Pet does, however' get xp..

Aki has been like that for quite a while. Not sure how long but it is measured in months.

I don't think it is the trainer but rather the way you kill them. I don't recall ever seeing it with aki but I've seen it on other bosses. I think it has something to do with dying to an "extra" hit like a bonus hit from going faster or a dot tick or something like that. Doesn't always happen when they die that way but I've never see it happen when things die to a normal hit.

I can't say for sure that I haven't seen this on Aki, but I've seen something similar to what Kpb described above, though from my experience it seems to happen mostly when I use multi round attacks, i.e. Tympanic Tantrum, Stampede, Mana Surge. Not sure if it's because it's multi round, or if it's secondary hits too (i.e. Mana Surge with Arcane Storm), but that's usually when I see it.

Aki has that bug for me since back in MoP.

I'm willing to bet it has less to do with Aki specifically and more to do with the techniques used. I've had similar issues with other tamers depending on the team I use (Taralune for a while). I think it has to do with "end of round" attacks and how they affect the outcome of the fight.
