I am using PWS and Chrominus and for some reason today I've had to forfeit over 20 battles against Mirecroak. He has 2 chances to turn Chrominus into frog before I can land Howl, and in every time the frog's kiss has landed. For something that has a chance of 25% to land, 20 or so in a row seems ugly today.

That's why I changed to a different strategy (which I think someone mentioned on Wowhead).
It's something like this:

Mirecroak

1: Chi-Chi, Hatchling of Chi-Ji (2,2,2)
2: Bush Chicken (1,1,1)
3: Emerald Proto-Whelp (2,2,2)

Start with Chi-Chi
1. Wild Magic
2. Feign Death

Bring in Bush Chicken
1. Flock
(I think Mirecroak was dead here)

Finish the Backline with the rest of your pets.
You can buy time with Emerald Proto Drake (Emerald Presence + Emerald Dream to buy time/soak buff rounds).

Rematch String for the Team: --
Another idea you might try: Howl Bomb with Nibbles (it's a Critter with Howl) if you own him.

You can also replace Chrominius with a darkmoon hatchling (a critter) and use Flock in place of Howl.

@[profile]Shingetsu[/profile] mentioned that Nibbles, being a critter, can Howl opponent without a risk of being polymorphed.
But well, this is an expensive solution.

I can't test how do several winged critters ([pet]Bush Chicken[/pet], [pet]Darkmoon Hatchling[/pet]) work.

Besides bombing and defense, [pet]Ikky[/pet]'s [ability]Black Claw[/ability] + [ability]Flock[/ability] can take him down quickly, provided the obvious bit of luck. But can't recall if you don't need another pet to finish.

I usually don't have any problems for Mire, but I'm gonna have to try that Chi-Chi/Bush Chicken strategy. I always seem to run into problems against Dreadwalker getting the inopportune crit against my Chrominius after PWS lays down it's dots. It's weird tho, I can go weeks without any issue against any of the terrors. Then suddenly it's as though my team/strat can't work anymore.

Probably because of the RNG of the backline. Those PP Crabs with Blood in the Water wreck so hard.

Did you try with a rare Ikky? It can surely solo mirecroak and if you're lucky the second pet too before it dies... Black claw + stampede is the key

Chi-Chi and Bush chicken did help a lot there. The frog's usually dead in 3 or 4 turns.

I plan to get deluxe digital edition of the next expansion so I will get Nibbles sooner or later. I may also need to get that Starcraft set for a new pet even though I hardly play SC.

Ikky- Black Claw and Flock
Chi-Chi Aplha Strike, tranq, etherial
Darkmoon zeplin- missle bombing run decoy

If Croak turns you into a frog with kiss- back out start over

Start with Black Claw- then flock. frog will die, use Ikky until he dies
then swap to Chi- I personally tranquility right away then you should from here know what to do

I'd just say that each "tank", like an [pet]Anubisath Idol[/pet] or a [pet]Teroclaw Hatchling[/pet], can be sent against adds.
If you use Black Claw + Flock/[ability]Hunting Party[/ability], you can additionally put a [pet]Frostwolf Ghostpup[/pet] or any other hard-hitter.

I've had days like that with mirecroak, I've had days where I had to sub to a critter with stampede to beat him without begging the random number generator to be kind.
