I have googled this, been all through WoW forums, asked friends but I cannot find an answer. I am pretty sure these last 4 months or so that I started lvling pets I was getting a pet from lvl 1 to 17 with the Panderian Pet tamer dailies. Now the lvling pet goes from lvl 1 to 12,,am I just seeing things lol? What am I missing. Thanks

I don't see any change. I expect 1 to 12 from one Pandaria battle, with Hat and Sausage.

Maybe 1 to 17 if you use Burger as well?

Just hat & sausage. My friend & I were also getting from 1 to 17 in Draenor with the pet tamer Ashlei in SMV now that isn't happening either.

I wonder whether you're confusing regular XP with the extra XP we got during the pet week recently? I think that may well have been 1 to 17 in one tamer battle, but it was the result of a special buff for that event only. The next pet event starts on Dec 30th.

From the formula at http://www.warcraftpets.com/community/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8829 I would expect

15.0*[ (your_pet_level + 9)*(30 - your_pet_level) ]
= 15 * 10 * 29
= 4350 XP

for a level 1 pet at Ashlei, without hat or treat.

I just brought a level 1 to Ashlei, no hat, no treat, and got exactly that:

I ended up at level 11. 4350 is enough XP for level 11 but not enough for level 12 according to the table here: http://www.warcraftpets.com/community/forum/viewtopic.php?p=107583#p107583 so that is consistent.

No, I don't think there have been any recent changes.

it was most definitely during the bonus XP event. you get from 1 to 17 with pandaria/draenor trainers during these events but only to 10 or 11 during normal XP days. (only other buff used was the safari hat)
you can see the event on the game calendar, and by a little critter sign up by your buffs.

Just to add on to what others have already said. Prior to the pet battle experience event, you could never go to level 17 from level 1 on the Pandaria tamers. I've been doing the MoP pet tamers for a long time and the most you could ever get before the event was level 1 to level 14 (that's fully buffed with everything including the top hat).

Now if you levelled during the battle pet experience event, then doing a MoP tamer with the bonus EXP buff and just the safari hat would get you 1 to 17 (fully buffed during the event you can get get 1 to 19). So as others have suggested, I would also say you probably were levelling during the bonus events each time you saw that happen.

I've been doing this for the last couple of years and I still do the MoP tamers when I sell some pets and have to do some batch levelling, so nothing appears out of the ordinary.
