Agreed. I see Oresika's Sproutlings are 289 speed, which may not be fast enough for all battles, but the Imp is the full 333.Biscuit wrote:Fiendish Imp, Teroclaw Hatchling and a Nightshade Sproutling were all high-tier pets before this patch and nothing has diminished that fact.
I think Bone Serpents will still be very strong. Their CD-locked moveset means their power wasn't back-ended anyway.
Oresika, is your issue with the current meta, of just with getting into PvP? I really want to write a Beginner's Guide to PvP.
Discodoggy is the world's source of inspiration and strategies for pet PvP.
Start with http://pvppetbattles.com/daily-battle/ and look around the site.
I gave a beginner friend a team of
Bone Serpent: Bone Barrage/Call Darkness/Nocturnal Strike
Iron Starlette: Wind-Up/Powerball/Supercharge
Nexus Whelpling: Tail Sweep/Mana Surge/Arcane Storm
and he did OK with it.
Instructions: Try to match each of your pets against the opposite pet that it's strong against, or a pet that is weak against yours. Don't be afraid to swap if you have a bad match-up. There are often a lot of swaps in PvP.
Whelpling: Arcane Storm, then Mana Surge
Serpent: Bone Barrage, Call Darkness, Bone Barrage, Nocturnal Strike
Starlette: Wind-Up, Powerball if that will make you faster than your opponent, Supercharge, Wind-Up may work but you could be playing head games with when to use Supercharge/Wind-Up. It can be good to do Wind-Up/Wind-Up and get that in twice.
This is a pretty basic team and an experienced battler with a sophisticated moveset will avoid or otherwise run rings around your big hits, but it's easy to understand, and my friend did OK with it - 10 wins from 14 battles on his first outing.
If you're just new to PvP, understanding your own team is half the battle.
