Update help

I stopped playing wow the beginning of 2014 when my Moms health went down and rescuing large senior dogs went insane. I've got more time and decided to look WOW up again. Things have Changed. I went back to the 5.4 forum and eveything look the same until I noticed some small changes and I must have left before the broke the water spirit and howlbomb? So I'm more out of touch than I thought but I can't find any updated guides. I could use some info on updated sources. Who's got the new guides. Help would be greatly appreciated. I got several new pets to get to 25
