Testing for Interest

I am investigating what the interest would be for a pet battle tournament on the NA realms.

My initial thoughts would be a Double Elimination tournament Best of 3 using the Pet Dueling feature in the open world (location to be determined).

The first tournament will be a test bed for hopefully a future bigger tournament with some streaming options.

sounds interesting but some rules would be needed .
like what pets can be used, can multiples be used, is a healing team allowed etc...
trust me to not think about this pre tourney will only lead to problems

Indeed. I had thought about it. I am planning on using some Pokemon rules.

For the first tournament, players will be allowed to have a 6 pet roster to create their battle team from. Initial tournament will be any pets allowed from the game. In the future, there could be pet restrictions; for example, only pets from the last 3 expansions, or only pets from 1 expansion.

If anyone has any other thoughts regarding rules, please feel free to suggest. I suspect the first tournament will have some flaws.
