I spent some time looking, because I didn't understand the abbreviations being used. Most of the resources I use specify a # for the Breed ID, as opposed to the (H/H) or (B/B) that are a bit easier to understand, but only if you know what you're looking at.
Unfortunately, the amazing Guide to WoW Pet Battles doesn't include these abbreviations. So here they are:
4 / 14 = (P/P)
5 / 15 = (S/S)
6 / 16 = (H/H)
7 / 17 = (H/P)
8 / 18 = (P/S)
9 / 19 = (H/S)
10 / 20 = (P/B)
11 / 21 = (S/B)
12 / 22 = (H/B)
3 / 13 = (B/B)
Hope this helps some others that might have been confused! If not, I'm content having been the only one confused.

aha! acronyms! didn't think of that term when I was searching the forums.
Re: Breed ID Abbreviation Cheatsheet
The P/P S/S P/S etc is something the battle pet breedid-addon uses as a default to make things more intuitive than the actual breed id number. The reasoning seems to be that the breed id number 4 doesn't mean much to the average player, but "P/P" tells you that it is a strong breed.
I recommend going into the addon settings to change it from using the letters to using the actual breed id. I find this much more useful.

The information is also available on the WCP website proper.
Re: Breed ID Abbreviation Cheatsheet
I can only guess the breed guide is a bit too hard to find. I figure that the tools drop down menu is a bit too unintuitive and should be renamed guides.
