As soon as I start a battle with a wild pet, my Murkablo dies, and so does the opponent.
They both show as 0/0 HP =/
Any ideas? =P

Try reloading your UI or relogging. I had this problem last night when attempting to battle a Tamer. Or you can try switching out your pets/visiting a stable master and then see if engaging in a pet battle works for you.

Looks like last night's hotfix wasn't so much a "fix" after all
