Yes, all of the elite battle pets are harder now, for sure. However, I cannot for the life of me beat Nitrun!! If anyone has any suggestions for a good team to use, along with which skills you use, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks fellow pet people!!

My Twillight Spider P/P got him down to 6 HP
Yeah, pure luck and a good crit, I know, but it might work well for you too.

I finally beat him using an Alpine Foxling Kit (only had a level 24) to give my team the speed boost, Rabid Nut Varmint with his extra plating, and a Jumping Spider with brittle webbing.

Here is what I did, and I tested this combo again to make sure that it wasn't pure luck when I defeated him.
Zandalari Anklerender - Hunting Party, Primal Cry, Black Claw
Nitun will strike first. Cast Primal Cry on your turn. You will get to hit first next round. Use Black Claw. Nitun will hit you and will almost kill your pet. Swap him out.
Zandalari Kneebiter - Hunting Party, Black Claw, Bloodfang
Use Hunting Party as soon as you swap this pet in. Depending on what ability Nitun will use, Hunting Party may or may not kill Nitun on this pet swap. If Nitun manages to kill your pet, swap third pet in but in many of my attempts Nitun is already dead at this point.
Zandalari Footslasher - Hunting Party, Primal Cry, Bloodfang
Use Hunting Party and Nitun will die - that is if he ever gets to this point.

If you use Undead pets, the life leech ability after he kills your pet doesn't work, so I used Ghostly skull, Stitched pup and I think Jade crane chick to beat him.

Just beat him with:
Flayer Youngling (Triple Snap, Deflection, Rampage)
Spirit Crab (Snap, Whirlpool, Shell Shield)
Jungle Grub (Consume, Acidic Goo, Burrow)
As Dash mentioned though, undead pets help in mitigating the Life Leech that Nitum gets from killing your pets. Next time I plan on adding Ghostly Skull or Stitched Pup in place of the Flayer Youngling. My goal was to chew through as much health as I could and then finish him with my Jungle Grub

I used 3 hard hitting pets and then swapped them out before they died. Took a few tries to get the timing right, but I got him down. I didn't think to use undead pets against a critter lol, good tip about the rez preventing the heal, will try that tonight.

Fox with Bite, howl and dazzling dance.
2 spiders with strike, brittle web and spiderling swarm.
Fox first, dance. Then Howl and bite bite. You'll probably die the next round (if you didn't already).
Because of the dance, your spiders will be going first. Keep web on him and swarm when able and strike when swarm is on CD.

I'd like to add my 2 cents... went with the Undead Pet thing.
Mr. Bigglesworth is AMAZING because he's undead and does beast damage. I use him first, got Nitun to almost 600.
Then I used Scourged Whelpling... pretty much because it was my only other 25.
3rd I used Fluxfire Feline because it does beast damage, and is mechanical so I get another round. I didn't even have to use him!

I havent really find any step up in difficulty with my anti critter BoF team:
Zandalari KneebiterS/S:
Black Claw ->
Hunting Party ->
Bloodfang
Flayer Youngling P/S (but can be just about any pet with
Rampage)
and as a third pet that hardly ever joins the battle
Spider S/S (but can be just about any S/S spider with
Brittle webbing ->
Spiderling Swarm ->
Strike)
Most elite critter pets will die during Rampage, some can even be soloed by the Kneebiter (if you are lucky with crits)

I do all my Fable Quests with my
Sprite Darter Hatching. It's very rare that I have to use anything but just this one pet to defeat any trainer. The trick is to use the
Life Exchange ability at just the right moment. Get in a few hits by setting up Moonlight and blast 'em a bit with arcane shot. Then
Life Exchange and repeat.
If he's still alive and your poor little darter is dead, use a
Snowy Owl with
Predatory Strike (Note: I think they changed this ability because it used to just kill the target if it was under 25%, instead of double damage... it was a neat trick for a time but double damage is still pretty nice.)

i can also confirm that on Nitun, stick with an all undead team... also helps to use undead pets that have a couple of beast talents (like infested bear cub or spirit crab) for those extra bouts of damage.

There is one pet that can allmost Solo Nitrun the
Blighted Squirrel!
Woodchipper,
Stampede,
Woodchipper job done most of the time.
If Nitrun managed to kill the Squirrel before being too badly hurt, he wont heal becasue of the Undead Racial and you can send in an
Infested Bear Cub with
Maul.
