ok ty for the link for breeds. ok so next question is can anyone give pointers for a starter team that i can learn with and adjust as i learn. I enjoy using my gregarious grell a lot. I can drag battle out pretty well with him. I also would like to learn how to people use teams that swap their own pets in and out without the lost turns affecting them that bad. Atm i use one till its done then move to the next.

When you PvP you will see a lot of the same pets, because they are OP. Most annoyingly, I find, are swap teams. They deal damage to you or dot you up and then force you to swap a pet. That will cause you to lose a round while your dotted up pet is on the backline dying. When its time they need to come back in and fight, they are too low on health and die in 1-2 hits. All this they can do to you because they got initiative by having fast pets, Broom 325 speed, Bone Spider 289, Fiendish Imp 333 speed. Also Death Grip, might mention it here.
Curse of Doom is popular, dunno if the tooltip is broken or the spell itself, it shortens by 1 round.
Direhorn Runts are popular, the HP breed in particular. Max damage, just enough speed with Primal Cry applied to have initiative at 336. Rest of stats into health. The 50% chance to stun on horn attack if fastest is OP high, many other stun abilities have longer cooldown or 25% only. Then as filler ability you got Trihorn Charge which works like Surge or any other "Always go first" abilities. HOWEVER, they lowered the hit% from 100% to 85% and thus forcing the ability to do more damage to make up for the loss of hit%. A nerf is incoming, I think it was 1 round cooldown on Trihorn Charge, which doesn't change anything as you still alternate Horn Attack/Trihorn Charge.
Some people like to annoy their opponent by dragging out the time each round or running 3 endurance pets like Anubisath Idols. Fast rabbits, their dodge last 2 turns if you go first, burrow on the side. Flurry rest of the time. Ravens/Crow with their Call Darkness can do some damage on Undeads, followed by a Nocturnal Strike. Call lightning + turrets mechanical ability.

This doesn't come from this site, but Discodoggy is my hero for it:

QFT. I was contemplating writing up a comprehensive guide for my guildies until I saw DD's write-up a few months ago. It's a wheel. I might put spokes on the inside or rubber on the outside, but the wheel part, I'm not re-inventing that.
In particular you'll want to read and re-read what DiscoDoggy has to say about synergy. It covers a fairly decent percentage of his multi-post guide because, once you figure out the Human v. Undead=dead Human part, and the P/P, S/S, and all lesser breeds part, it's all about the varying forms of synergy.
And, Grothia, if you want more people to throw in some advice, pick your favorite pet. A team can be built around your favorite pet, maybe as a poor substitute for a better pet in that role, but it will certainly narrow things down for anyone wanting to help.
Now, TeaCake, stop spamming Disco's link. Seriously, I'm ~190 wins from Trainer. I don't need stiff competition down the final stretch, so knock it off
