I'm still confused about the Pet Battle daily quests. Are they working as intended? are they still bugged? It would be great if Blizzard could actually let us know.

I've done the trainer and GM battles on 4 continents now, and I was not getting the daily quests so I stopped. Yesterday having seen all the recent hotfix notes I thought I would go back and try again.

1. I went to Varzok in Orgrimmar - no quest there or any link to the dailies.

2. I decided to go and try with the trainers in Outland as this was a level I was comfortable with. So I went to wowhead to find the location again of all the trainers. I find it difficult to remember all the different trainer locations, as they are often in out of the way locations, and there is no breadcrumb quests to help you find them again. I find this a frustrating design aspect (and breaks any game immersion).

3. I found that the trainers in Outland were indeed offering me a daily battle. However it rewarded only some gold, not the expected Pet Reward bag. Is this correct? I did this with the other outland trainers as well.

4. After beating the 4 trainers I went to the GM - however he did not offer me any questat all.

So - I'm still confused, not sure what is a bug and what is intended. Should I have something that leads me to the different locations? Should I be able to fight the GM again? Why am I not getting any reward bags?

You're not confused; at least, we don't seem to know what "normal" is yet because it still doesn't seem to be working right. As far as I know, only a GM daily will give you a bag, the others all just give gold (as you noticed).

The only bug in the experience you describe is that the GM did not offer a Daily quest.

Once unlocked you can travel to each of the Trainers in a region to battle them once each day. The GM will award a bag of pet supplies when defeated, but the other trainers will only provide gold. There is no breadcrumb quest; you have to travel to each trainer's location to accept and complete the Daily.



Personally, I hope they change these up. Maybe after you defeat them, these trainers should travel to a capital city once each day to challenge the player. Or even bring in new NPCs for Daily quest challenges within your capital city: I understand Prince Anduin has become a fairly strong practitioner of the art of Pet Battles since arriving in Pandaria.

The Tamer dailies are still not resetting and/or being offered properly. Many are able to complete each daily at least once but are unable to pick them up a second time. Developers are currently working on a fix for this issue, but it's likely it will take another hotfix or maybe even patch 5.1 for this to be fully resolved.

As for the Sack of Pet Supplies, I believe they're working as intended. Prior to MoP release, all Tamers rewarded the goodie bag for completing their daily quest, but this seems to have changed post-MoP. Only Grand Masters reward the bag now, while the other Tamer dailies only reward gold and experience.
