Pet ability filters omissions

Post by Vancleef » October 15th, 2019, 9:35 am

When creating strategies for pet battles, I've been using this site's ability filters a lot. It's been a very helpful feature. While using it I've found some omissions and a few small errors. Here's my list.
  • Interrupting Jolt — Should be in the category Interrupt Effects.
  • Unholy Ascension — Should be in the category Team Debuff.
  • Righteous Inspiration — Should be in the category Always First, and also in the category Forces Pet Swap.
  • Armageddon — Should be in the category Team Damage.
  • Fish Slap — The icon for this ability is incorrect, another icon is used in-game.
  • Expunge — Should not be in the category Greater Chance to Miss.
  • Moth Dust — Should not be in the category Greater Chance to Miss.
  • "Tea Party" — This ability is incorrectly spelled as \"Tea Party\" (probably a technical limitation?).
The following abilities should be in the category Greater Chance to Miss: The following abilities should be in the category Multiple Hit Effects (they hit 3 times each round): ———

Finally, there's the category Burst Damage. I think this category is meant to contain all abilities that does big damage in a single hit, but many of them are currently missing. I've made a list of high-damage abilities sorted by the amount of damage they do (the numbers are for a pet with 276 power). Personally I would include all abilities from Mighty Charge (473 damage) and up in the category. I would remove Udder Destruction and Deep Freeze from the category.

I've marked the ones currently in the Burst Damage category with an asterisk.

Thanks for compiling this list of corrections! We've updated many of the abilities, but Fish Slap and Tea Party aren't showing up properly and will require additional investigating.

As for the "Burst Damage" filter - Right now it seems roughly ~400+ base damage is what we're currently tagging as "burst", but we're open to additional opinions (feel free to discuss it in this thread!). The problem with this category is that some pets come in different breeds, creating a wide damage range for the one ability.

We'll review the abilities you've listed under "Burst Damage" and will add any that should obviously be included in that filter.

Wow, that was very quick! Thank you! And I agree that it's quite ambiguous which abilities belong in the Burst Damage category.
