How do I set a signature pic please?
@Sunborne
(What if there were HS cards recolors? )
I wonder if are these the multiple tiny windows that keep bothering you? If so, GIMP 2.8 and higher can keep them docked.
This part of documentation should have yourself introduced to that and to the general interface customization.
I guess that there are also addons that make the interface more similar to other applications, but I wouldn't promise anything.
Not what you've expected, I know. But as @Logansfury said, there isn't very much past that to be worried about.

So what are your plans with the software? Did you get motivated to do a sig as well?

If I can get some time to sit down and read more on it and watch some youtube tutorials I plan to try and finish it. When I first booted it up I had no idea what to after I got the banner at proper size. I'm a graphics program novice at best lol. I've never worked with anything besides MS Paint so cutting/cropping/pasting is stuff I need to learn how to do lol. So the way you cut out a portion of your character for your sig is something that is beyond me until I get some time to watch a few videos hopefully later this week.

Eeee thank you people
Despite manuals, tuts etc I won't hestitate to talk about things. Interactivity for the win!
I believe that model viewer allows to save the model with transparent background (correct me if not), but I fetch it by other means anyway because of my poor machine.
If the previous posts are too "oomph", try the wand (you can set the sensitivity) + patiently applied eraser first.

I just couldnt get metallic look out of the back of my mind until I fired up GIMP again and did some experimentation. I found a nice tute on youtube for brushed metal effects: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ay4mep9NT8U.
Used tutorial to come up with this image of metallic red.

After working out the metallic background, I see its too subtle a difference to justify redoing the sig >.<
At least now I finally know and can stop wondering if I should go back and tweak the sig more lol.

This is odd,
I checked my User Control Panel and the sig image URL is still valid and displaying my picture.
I think I may need to ask the site admins for help. Thanks for the heads up Brent!

Re: How do I set a signature pic please?
I got a response from the admins, and it seems this is an issue that may be affecting a lot of site users:
"We recently changed the site to use SSL (https). So image links which pull images from other websites must also include https rather than http in their URL, or they will not display.
You might see whether simply inserting an S after http in your signature’s URL will fix the issue."
In my case, tinypic did not work with the URL adjustment. I have googled https picture upload and the first "free" one was a scam and the 2nd (imageBB.com) while legit, is unfortunately not recognized by this sites coding - im getting no display of my img since redirecting to iBB.
I think this requires starting a new thread for https picture service suggestions.
