Pet Biting

My pet is biting a lot, what to do?
What type of pet and how old?
I have a Cavapoo puppy, 6 months old. We stopped her biting by exclaiming 'ow!' as in ouch... loudly everytime she bit and then ignoring her until she calmed down. The ignoring is important and everyone has to do... even guests.
