Daily Draenor tamer pet battle quests cannot be abandoned?

I haven't done many of the daily pet battles out in the wilds of Draenor. But today I wanted to fight some of the daily pet trainers out there to level up some of my pets.

I picked up the quest from Gargra in Frostfire, and defeated her. However, I wanted to try battling her again, so tried to abandon the quest. However, I cannot abandon the quest. Even right clicking on the quest in the quest log and selecting abandon quest does not work.

Is this a bug? Or are the quests simply designed to be unable to be abandoned or done over more than once per day once you succeed in defeating her?

It's deliberate. The daily tamer quests cannot be abandoned because that would allow people to grind pet levels on them.

I will second this. You cannot abandon any tamer daily. They have been this way for a long time now.

.......it's almost as if, the system was designed, so you can only battle the trainer on a DAILY basis..

You can abandon them IFF you have not yet started a pet battle with them. I forget why I had to do this, but I have done it before.

yup. It's intentional to prevent you from redoing the fight multiple times on a single day to get extra exp.

I was not around for the first three months of Mist of Pandaria, but I have heard that this was possible at first when it launched. This is the sort of thing that is tough to find in Beta Testing because who, of the thousands of testers, would sit and do that over and over in beta when there is new content to play with. With retail release after a few months millions of people are done with content and find these sorts of things. It was changed in a patch early on in that expansion. (again just what I heard, I have no first hand knowledge)

I think a similar thing is about to happen to the menagerie pet battles, tons of exp can be made from repeating the right battles over and over. Reports from Test Realm are that the exp is seriously nerfed.
