Yep, Lunker drop rate is LOTS better

9 Lunkers in first 45 minutes of fishing. Sea Calf should be whole lot easier to get than the Land Shark.

There had been some discussion about the 5 Lunker limit in forum a while back. I tested, it's 5 of the same kind of fish, can have 5 more of each other type.

Hrm, Seems fishing lunkers in shadowmoon if ally, or frostfire if horde might be the thing then. Since you are -QUICKLY- going to hit the 5 cap and needing them turned in.

I hit 10 lunkers after about two hours. But I've been without worm supreme for most of that and I'll totally take a lunker every 6 minutes. Especially with my Sea Calf at my side. Now to fish up enough for Land Shark.

Edit: lunker every 12 minutes. ...shhhh don't tell my students I did a word problem poorly.

Yea I can confirm this. I caught 5 in 41 minutes (Max skill + spear + ramsey's lager). I did this with and w/o bait from a pool in shadowmoon.

Ephemeral fishing pole, highfish cap, worm supreme and bait (1000 fishing in total). I was just fishing in a pond in spires of arak, not seeking out the specific pools of fish.

It's RNG. I'd gotten 2 lunkers in 15 minutes before patch, for example, when that wasn't the norm at all. And do not fish in pools (unless it's changed since before the patch), has to be open waters.

Yep, it did end up being RNG. I fished in another spot for 20 mins, and had 4 lunkers drop.

5 lunkers in SMV in almost exactly 1 hour. I had 962 fishing skill with my buddy the Sprite Darter Hatchling keeping away the mosquitoes. Looking forward to catching up on some tv and movies while I fish and hopefully with all the mats gained getting the coins, I'll get lil leftovers from cooking the new 125 food.

With a 1k fishing score (Ephemeral fishing pole and a worm supreme, along with maxed fishing) I got 5 lunkers in exactly 31 minutes. Drop rate is far better than before, which is good for me since I still need all 3 of Nat Pagle's items...

I must be the odd one out. I got 1 lunker in 30 mins today.

Got 5 with 3 min left on the second Worm Supreme while waiting for raid last night, with skill around 950.

From what other people have posted it sounds like I was extremely lucky though.

It's all up to the whims of the RNG Gods. Yesterday had one glorious 12 minutes of fishing and 5 lunkers. Figured I might as well finish off the worm and snag a few more fish but when sixth lunker dropped a few minutes later (which, of course, I couldn't accept) headed back to garrison.

Later that evening, had a 40 minute stretch without a single one.

I was in SMV fishing and caught 1 in 40 minutes, then hearthed went to nagrand and caught 5 in 10 casts. RNG was finally in my favor for once. Now if only I can get the one that didn't get away for my salty title..

You can catch lunkers with or without pools. I honestly don't think it really matters which you use except pools have a higher chance of a specific fish, and ergo, a specific lunker.
