LF help to defeat specific Sethe team
Hello folks!
I'm looking for a helping hand from some more experienced PvPers than myself. I've recently been running into a team consisting of:
P/S Netherspace Abyssal (Immolate, Immolation, Nether Gate),
P/S Son of Sethe (Plagued Blood, Touch of the Animus, Drain Blood), and
S/S Ore Eater (Acid Touch, Shell Armor, Body Slam).
The idea of the team is to get Immolation and other DoT's going between the pets and then use Son of Sethe to create massive healing on the front and back line. The Shell Armor on the Ore Eater is yet another headache to deal with, as is the forced swap. I've tried many different teams trying to counter this, some have come close but I just can't seem to beat it.
I've tried Sear Magic pets, Darkness teams and quite a few others and I always end up on the wrong side of the poopy stick.
Anyone that could at least lead me in the right direction would certainly be helpful.

Re: LF help to defeat specific Sethe team
My first instinct would be to run a composition making use of Haunt, it has several advantages against something like this.
First of all, it lets you seriously threaten the Ore Eater to prevent it from spending too much time out front. If you go with the Valk, the burst damage of CoD will get around Shell Armor's immediate reduction as it will have fallen off by then, if you go with the Ghastly Kid you have the very useful Consume Magic to clear debuffs.
They both of course have access to Haunt which is key here because it allows you to get your debuffed pet out of the way after it has been Touch of the Animus'd or Plagued, without you having to give up a free turn by manually swapping.
These kinds of teams generate advantage by making you choose between two suboptimal plays - stay in with their debuffs and generate massive healing for them, or swap and give them a free turn. Haunt gives you a very neat solution to this, and is part of what makes it such a versatile move in general.

Re: LF help to defeat specific Sethe team
Thank you for the response, Myon. I made a solid attempt once using the Ghastly Kid, but I think the rest of my team may have been suboptimal. I will definitely try again with the Kid and maybe some sort of bursty types, because it seems like longer the fight goes the better it is for him. I may also have to just concede that I'm facing a more skilled opponent and just keep honing my skills.
Thanks again for the help, I shall press on

Re: LF help to defeat specific Sethe team
Since Im using a similar comp to this (SoS, Fiendish Imp, Ominous Flame) the pets/comp I find most difficult to handle are:
1. rabbits (both immolation and immolate are week on them, a S/S one will be faster the ore eater and will be able to negate it completly, and with critter attack he will be able to quickly dispose of SoS.
2. darkness
3. Fossilized Hatchling, when using BONESTORM when you have either Touch of the Animus or Plagued Blood (or both) you will actually gain health after using it insted of losing health (since youre attacking yourself), it will also deal a large amount of dmg to the ore eater.
4. anything with a sheild will negate.
Another option that will work only if he is using this strat for a small amount of time is an Unborn Valk, by using CoD and Haunt you can deal alot of dmg. But like the Ore Eater the Valk pattern is realy easy to counter, espcialy with a magic pet with low health that can block the CoD and a pet with a shield that can block the haunt.

Re: LF help to defeat specific Sethe team
I've seen this team quite a few times. An SS Ore Eater of your own, plus a Ghastly Kid pretty much neuters this team. Third pet is just a sweeper, in case he still has a little left at the end
Re: LF help to defeat specific Sethe team
The idea of Immo + life leech combo is nothing new, in fact the 333 imp is a much better pet in this kind of setup because human pet can leech HP every round and he got a extremely faster speed and can make sure the nether gate will be useful.
Being said that, to counter this kind of team, you can go 2 routes :
1. Sandstorm - which will kill off most of the dots. Suggested pet is the Idol or a 325 speed flying chick near the southern part of silithus.
2. Darkness - which will reduce the healing effect by half. Scrouge dragon is fine.

Re: LF help to defeat specific Sethe team
Sandstorm should be good against this team. I'd suggest an S/S Qiraji Guardling over Anubisath Idol, since due to Blackout Kick it only has to get hit once to swap in and activate Sandstorm. Just pair it with something that can out-damage the Son of Sethe's healing - big damage or an aquatic - and you should be good against this team.
Re: LF help to defeat specific Sethe team
Most of what I wanted to say was covered by the posters above me: Sandstorm, Darkness.
Based on my own experience, I would rather swap out the pet with the Touch up and take the free hit (if possible) than give so much free healing to the other team. This is especially true when they have more than one pet who can benefit from the healing, such as the team you describe.
I run a Son of Sethe/Minfernal/third pet team myself sometimes, and I find that I struggle most when my opponent keeps switching out: I don't get to heal as much, and with a team setup built around DoTs and outhealing, I often don't have enough damage to get kills quickly enough if I don't get mah healz.

Re: LF help to defeat specific Sethe team
Thank you all very much for the replies! Using these tactics I've made some good attempts but alas I can't seem to come out on top. Shell Armor + healing is a real PITA. I have to chock it up to my own inexperience, because some of the teams I used seemed like pretty good counters.
I'll keep on battling and hopefully get better
Thanks again everyone!

Re: LF help to defeat specific Sethe team
Its hard but its possible to beat this team with Anubis (Sandstorm), DAH (Avoidance & Big Hit) and Magical Crawdad.
