Carry Pet Experience Reference
It is mostly up to date. The only out of date part are the sections related to Erris/Kura. They used to have a 7x experience multiplier and now have a 5x experience multiplier. The guide still refers to the 7x incorrectly. I've been busy this summer, but plan to update them either at the end of August or beginning of September when I am back from vacation. Everything else not referring to them is up to date. There are no additions for the Tanaan patch as the elites are just like wild pets in terms of EXP.
As far as the bonus goes, take your normal buff multiplier (1.1 for safari hat, 1.85 for all 3 main buffs, etc.) and add 2.0 to it (3.1 for safari hat + bonus, 3.85 for all 3 main buffs + bonus, etc.).

Re: Carry Pet Experience Reference
Hi!
One day I've noticed that Stitches Jr. (Erm…), The Beakinator and Eleanor give slightly more exp than the other garrison creatures (save Squirt, ofc) -- up from 290 XP for the 1st lvl.
How does the formula go for them? Is this just a BoF case?

The single pet menagerie battles are identical to a BoF, which is identical to a wild battle vs a single enemy, so it's just the base equation:Paladance wrote:Hi!

experience = B*T*N*[(your_pet_level + 9) * (opponent_pet_level - your_pet_level + 5)]
Where B = your buffs, T = 1, N = 1, opponent_pet_level = 25. This gives
B*[(your_pet_level + 9) * (30 - your_pet_level)]
The 2 and 3 pet menagerie battles (except for squirt obviously) actually do have a tamer bonus. I believe it was 0.1 (So T=0.1 for them), but I haven't retested since they made some changes to see if that is still the exact modifier. But that is why the multipet menagerie teams give such low EXP.

Thank you.
But surprisingly, Quintessence of Light has another separate base, probably even lesser than the garrison trios!
A sad part of info from the this website perspective.

Re: Carry Pet Experience Reference
She probably has the 0.1 multiplier as well. Her original form used the post like the others, so she may have gotten the same "tamer bonus" as them. Try multiplying the results you expect to get from her by 0.1 and see if they are close (kind of ignoring rounding rules doing it this way, so it can vary the results).

Re: Carry Pet Experience Reference
Any news for Legion?
I've heard that's pretty complicated, I mean, there is no clear indicator to memorise which encounters are lucrative.
no need to hurry, ofc, I'm aware that not all quests have been up on live yet

Re: Carry Pet Experience Reference
Well I have been spending a lot of time levelling and such. What I have seen so far:
If it is a *tamer* fight (Sir Galvaston for example) then it gets the 5x Tamer bonus (so like MoP and most of the WoD tamers). No tamer fights so far have had the standard wild battle pet exp.
Note that I haven't tested them all and I probably wont for a while because I want to get the achievs (3x aquatics vs Z tamer, etc.) so being able to test that out and get the achieves is difficult.
The big thing to consider though is that which fights are up is pretty random, so for levelling purposes Legion tamers won't be reliable like MoP and WoD are.

Re: Carry Pet Experience Reference
Having a tamer fight with Unburdened buff, I'd like to mention that it doesn't affect your pet's experience
(have got 4648 XP for a lvl 4 pet).
Why do I write it if it doesn't? Well, you can't check that everytime in the year.
Next bonus to check will be perhaps Sharing is Caring, but I guess they all share (he-he-he) similar pattern. Blah.
An additional note: Darkmoon Top Hats, while they indeed don't go into the mail, can be placed in a guild bank. They also often drop from the Darkmoon Faire Prizes, so I leave it to oneself what does that mean. :S

Re: Carry Pet Experience Reference
when looking to see which buffs affect pet EXP, look for aura #420. that is the one that affects pet experience.
See this for an example:

effect #5

Re: Carry Pet Experience Reference
Shipwrecked Captive
Yeah, 1215 for a level 18 pet. That gives him a tamer bonus of 1.5x
(pet_level + 9)*(30-pet_level)*2.5*1.5 = exp
however, sign of the critter week, so this is off by that bonus. I need to retest or back calculate.
without sign of the critter, T = 0.5.
*******************************************************************************
Rocko (single enemy) => wildpet EXP, no tamer bonus.

Re: Carry Pet Experience Reference
Do you still collect these? Most of the time, a single carry pet is used with two level 25 pets. Sometimes, however, one might have two carry pets to split too much EXP (to not waste it) on a tamer that can be solo'ed by one 25 pet. If the two carry pets are equal level, they get split the EXP straight down the middle. If they aren't equal level, it gets a bit more complicated. In that scenario, the pet with the higher level gets slightly less than half its expected EXP while the lower level pet gets slightly more than half its exptected EXP. I haven't quite nailed down exactly how it is calculated, but have been collecting data on it when I can.
Ashlei, with hat:
1 & 1 -- both get 2393.
1 & 10 -- 2501 & 2993 respectively.
1 & 14 -- 2552 & 2834 respectively.
1 & 15 -- 2565 & 2756 respectively.
1 & 16 -- 2578 & 2663 respectively.
1 & 17 -- 2592 & 2556 respectively.
1 & 22 -- 2661 & 1816 respectively.
18 & 19 -- 2688 & 2526 respectively.

Vinu is just wild pet exp. No bonus. Level 2 carry pet with 770 exp no safari
Edit: same for Thistleleaf Bully. 900 for a level 6 no safari.
Edit: same for lildan. 368 for a level 7 no safari (1 enemy)
Retested menagerie vs Firos duo. 58 exp for a level 1 carry. Consistent with T=0.1
