I found a toy today in a chest in Aszuna (just to the left as you're entering the Shipwreck Arena, guarded by a named naga Slavehunter Zsanesh). It is called Sternfathom's Pet Journal.

It summons a Pet Battle Grand Master with a weekly (?) quest that rewards 4 pet charms. He has three epic pets:

Scuttles (Aquatic) - Crab w/ Claw and Spiny Carapace
Clamps (Undead) - Lobster w/ Infected Claw, Shell Shield, and Carpnado
Kiazor the Destroyer (Critter) - with Scratch and Burrow

They toy can only be used in Aszuna, the pets were fairly easy to beat, I used only a bird and the molten core pup to beat them as I have only the pets from the generic level 100.

Are you able to re-summon him and battle him again after you've completed/turned in the quest? (Guessing no, but doesn't hurt to check hehe)

Not right away It's very likely weekly. Maybe daily, but most likely weekly.

Right now, if you don't complete the quest, you can repeat the battle to gain carry XP until you are tired of it

Opponent pets' abilities seem to be bugged and Scuttles' slot 1 ability is a bit of rng, in some fight I've seen Dive instead of Claw and then he is idling between Dive cooldown and Spiny Carapace refresh and a lot easier...

Thank you for this post! Went and got the journal. Battled him Monday, so far he isn't offering fights again (Tues or Wed)
