At least that is achievable. Annoying and unnecessary, but achievable.Quintessence wrote:Short answer: No. Maxing out the last trait 50 point is not required to collect the pets. If you have to max this out to unlock the DK pet, this is awful. Doing it once is going to be bad enough, and that is even assuming you play a DK. The goal of this new trait is that you are never done.
I'm not on the PTR, can this be confirmed that this is the intention?
Longer answer: I believe DK and Monk pets both require the achievement Power Ascended. This involves simply unlocking the last trait (1 point in it).
Similar to when you reach weapon level 34 you can put one point in the new trait that's opened up. It unlocks it and you're granted that trait's bonus, but you haven't filled it out completely. (Hope that made sense!)
According to Wowhead's artifact calc, current total amount of AP we'll need for each pet is 159,266,330 (should get you to weapon level 43). This is, of course, subject to change.

Re: 7.2 PTR - new pets
Latest Build has added Orphaned Felbat. Listed as coming from Legionfall Chest. I imagine this may be the Emissary chest for the new faction but it's unclear.
(and I imagine this isn't going to go down too well). Magical Saucer. (toy that allows pets to fly beside you). 10000 Order resources from Uthel'nay. A mage trainer in Orgrimmar and in the mage order hall. So looks like the toy is from the mage campaign. Requirement to purchase not clear but I can't see it connected to weapons. I think it's probably going to be available upon completing the mage campaign.

Re: 7.2 PTR - new pets
UPDATE for DK/Monk pets:
Weapon level required for Power Ascended = 52, NOT 43 as previously thought. See Wowhead's 7.2 Artifact Talent Calculator.
The final trait cannot be learned until all previous traits are filled out. This includes all of the 3/4 traits which were 3/3 prior to 7.2.

Will the 26+ artifact research look like the current one? (including ~two months of waiting?) Maybe is there a catch-up like after the launch of .1.5?

Re: 7.2 PTR - new pets
Indeed there is (eventually) an 45 AK instant learn tome that you send to your alts. It will be available once you're AK 50, or about 120 days after you unlock AK26 (tomorrow at the earliest).
I wonder if getting everyone to log out for 120 days is what they were looking for. Save on server resources.
